Archaeological Sites

Cyprus’ history dates back 12,600 years … I believe it’s the mountainous region of the Lost City of Atlantis … much as that can’t be proved emphatically, there is something here that has enticed many countries to conquer it and the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites around this wonderful rock prove it …

Here’s a couple to start the adventure …

Pafos Mediaeval Fort,
Kato Pafos Harbour

A Byzantine fort originally built to protect the harbour, over the years it’s been dismantled and rebuilt by many a nation.  It is now considered to be one of Pafos’ main attribute, so much so that many cultural events are held outside its front gates during the year particularly in September.
