2nd ’til 4th June 2017
I’ve been following Marina, this amazingly talented artist for some time now, often having chats … I was thrilled when I found out there’s an exhibition of her students art coming up this June, so I thought I would share a little insight in what to expect.
Born into art
Marina has been painting since she was 4 years old, both parents created art, her father who was blind, hand crafting in many materials, metal, pottery and basket weaving, and her mother painting on glass … it just must be in the blood !
Larnaca born, Marina matured with art all around her, it was inevitable that’s the direction she would go, and now with 3 solo exhibitions already behind her including the opening of a castle in Italy, her work is truly recognised internationally.
Marina launched the Art Workshop to help guide budding artists and this exhibition is about her students. It’s an exhibition of pure talent. The group is currently 18 strong, mostly Cypriot, English Cypriot and from Greece, and the theme is ‘Portraits’ … you have to say this art is stunning and I’m looking forward to seeing it up close.
Is a collection of Marina’s students work from this years workshop, some are available to buy, and will be held at Roes Cultural Multi Venue, 79a, Archbishop Kyprianos Avenue, it’s in the heart of Old Strovolos, by the Church of Panayia Chryseleousa in Nicosia …
You can enrol into Marina’s Art Workshop at anytime but the year starts in September.
