It’s the second building on the left as you drive into the village of Oroklini, and it’s my first choice for Fish n’ Chips … Looking all clean ‘n shiny ‘n colourful, the decor is an immaculate modern environment to eat in, just in case you’re not taking away … their reputation is excellent, in fact it’s sooo good even the President of Cyprus eats here when he’s in town !
It’s an awesome family run business, with Fay & George, originally from Sydney, Australia, via a 15 year stint in Birmingham in the UK, with 25 years experience cooking chicken, their signature dish, using a secret family recipe, for the seasoning and the stuffing, then the whole chicken is spit roasted slowly over real charcoal, absolutely delicious! Faye makes sure your fish is cooked to perfection and the chips of course, brother Kyriacos is the maitre’d and son, Thomas is following in all their footsteps !
Their shop downunder was called Chick, breaking the barriers in Oz, cooking their chicken over real charcoal, the Fish bit was added in their UK shop, where they mastered the art of cooking quality Fish & Chips and their menu now offers a nice variety of fish, sea foods and grills, with a little hint of a’la carte …
Choose only the finest sourced North Atlantic Cod, or Haddock fried or grilled to go with your freshly cut chips, made of course with Cyprus Potatoes, then add a saveloy and a couple of crispy pickled onions or maybe their delicious Salmon Steak, cooked over real charcoal and served with rice, or one of my favourites the family secret recipe chicken, with roast potatoes and rice from the hot food bar and maybe some freshly cut salad … They also serve tasty Burgers, wicked Wraps, chargrilled Lamb Chops, Pork Chops, or Kebabs and much much more …
I love the Mixed Grill Platters but my absolute favourite is their Mixed Seafood Platters, a special treat for seafood lovers, 12 King Prawns, 12 Mussels and 12 Baby Calamari, with chips, rice and crispy salad served to be shared of course.
In the kitchen they’ll get all culinary, so try the flambe King Prawns in Ouzo, with red and green Peppers served sizzling to your table …
There’s a great choice for kids too, all their favourites including Calamari Rings, Chicken Nuggets or just ask for a smaller Cod & Chips … with Mushy Peas, a Wally and some curry sauce or Gravy, add slice and a cuppa, mmm !
Behind the Bar
All your fav drinks including Keo on Draught a few Ciders, cool selection of Vodkas and even Champers if you’re celebrating a special event, and on that note they also provide an excellent catering service too !
They really go to town on bank Holidays and celebration days like Valentines and Mothers Day … Just a romantic night for 2 on Valentines or a suckling pig and buffet for 50 for your birthday ?
