I have to say when this eaterie opened in 2019 I was more than pleasantly surprised … Java is not a new computer language, but a ‘Diner’ taking hospitality to a new level, and after my first visit I was certain they’d be winning awards! Java is a place to eat, drink, and chill out … and I love their subtitle ‘Food & Fuel’!
With two top chefs in the kitchen, the first thing I noticed, it was straight into Brunch, much as they now serve a delicious traditional English Breakfast … Brunch, of course means you don’t have to wake up in time for breakfast?, looking through I noted a few things to put on my ‘must try’ list … first the ‘Green & Sea’, country bread toast, with smoked salmon and poached eggs, coated with tahini sauce and served with hash browns!
On my recent visit I chose The Java Fix, Avocado spread onto toasted multigrain bread, cherry tomatoes, grilled bacon, poached eggs and halloumi drizzled with maple syrup, it was so good I was already planning an evening visit and hadn’t looked at page 2 yet … We’ve eaten here many times and every time I’m just as impressed! … Check out their Facebook reviews here
Street & Shared Bites
Their ‘Street Bites’, are unique … You must try the Fried Halloumi Sticks served with sweet chilli sauce or the Curly Fries with homemade melted Cheddar cheese sauce and jalapenos … or the Grilled Vegetables with Halloumi, on a bed of rucola, drizzled with balsamic vinaigrette and topped with grilled halloumi, I tried on my third visit, absolutely delicious.
Sandwiches & Wraps
The grilled chicken fillet marinated in paprika, roasted bell peppers, cream cheese and fresh greens, wrapped in tortilla looked very tempting. Maybe the Smoked Salmon Sandwich, in a baguette with rucola, avocado and cream cheese .. Mmm
Standing out of 4 choices of salad, my favourite was the Java Salad, its a mix of Salmon marinated in citrus juice, with avocado, caviar, garnish, and passion fruit, on a bed of rucola.
Black Angus Burgers
Beef burgers are their speciality, Marinos explained; “they are made with 200gr of Irish Black Angus, probably the best cut of beef in the universe, then homemade with a touch of
class” and naturally I just had to try a nibble, and OMG!!!, just a taste bud explosion and highly recommended … Just love this little video
The Big 6
There’s 6 Burgers to choose from including a Vegan Burger with beetroot, quinoa, iceberg lettuce, tomato and BBQ sauce but the ‘Down Town’ caught my eye; Grilled bacon, fried egg, tomato, iceberg lettuce and double cheddar cheese, with truffle mayo.
Headlining the Java BBQ Ribs served with crispy salad, fresh country potatoes and homemade BBQ sauce … if you’re hungry try the ‘Jumbo Pork Chop’ all 600gr served with a crispy salad, roasted pepper hummus and served with fresh country potatoes … But the Whole Fried Kalamari is my absolute favourite, cooked with a touch of chilli, served with fresh country potatoes and homemade tartar sauce Mmm!
Our veggie friends must try the ‘Grilled Vegetables with Smoked Halloumi’; it’s grilled seasonal vegetables on a bed of ruccola, drizzled with balsamic vinaigrette and topped with smoked grilled halloumi …
The kids have their own selection, my grandson tried the Spaghetti Napolitana served with homemade tomato sauce and loved it but there’s Greek Margarita Pizza, Chicken Goujons, oh and Irish Black Angus Classic Burgers, served with country potatoes, oh, sorry ‘No’ Chicken nuggets here coz they serve only fresh food, so there’s nothing from the freezer!
All the desserts are home made with passion. The American Style Cheesecake just delicious … unless you fancy the best Brownies you’ll ever nibble on or The Carrot Cake filled and topped with cream cheese icing which sounded lovely, so to the Chocolate Fudge Cake, a rich chocolate cake topped with warm chocolate sauce and vanilla ice-cream … but the first time you go, make sure you choose the homemade ‘Panna Cotta’ flavoured with lemongrass and passion fruit syrup, I shared mine and wished I hadn’t ‘

Behind the Bar
The drinks menu is extensive! No local spirits here, they are all quality imported spirits, 16 Gins, 3 of them pink, and they’ll recommend the perfect flavoured tonic … try their classic and signature cocktails, mixed to perfction by the gorgeous bar crew, aka the professors of Gin … but wait ’til you try the ‘Rumberry Delight’ just delicious. They also, boast the best Strawberry Margaritas in town, mind blowing Mojitos and of course a selection of wines and beers from around the world.
Shakes & Smoothies
They also blend an awesome selection of Cold Chocolate, Freshly Squeezed Juices and the best Smoothies I’ve tasted in ages. The Acapulco, is peach, banana and strawberries and a couple of health freak flavours The Veggi is apple, spinach, carrot and ginger … so smooooth …
