All Together
Glad to be back, I grabbed the chance to catch up with Christian and Elise, an unusual
duo, that works!  Christian half Scot, half German, initially a commercial diver has lived in the Middle East and Asia most of his life.  Elise, who is originally from Holland but also grew up as an ex-pat in the Middle East, Asia and even lived in Cyprus; has had a long career in the IT field all over Europe, she moved back to Cyprus 5 years ago.  Together they’re an awesome team, Elise doing all the bookings and admin and Chris heading up the diving team …

Fate
Almost by accident, after meeting Elise in Cyprus in early 2022, they met Gill through Elise’s daughter and learned that he was selling his business, so naturally, they jumped at the chance and invested their life savings, so enthusiastically they’re putting their whole heart into it;  A really good move I’d say coz it’s a totally unique business, because the only other place you can do this is in Mexico!

3 Metres
When they invited me for a chat and told me to bring my shorts … next thing you know I was walking on the sea floor with a 1920’s style helmet on.  It was my third time, and I loved it as much as the first and the second … It’s so cool!

Serenity at Trinity
Based at the beautiful, tranquil, Trinity Beach in the Ayia Triada area of Protaras, this adventure sport is totally unique in Europe!  It’s an undersea adventure like no other, and trust me, it’s an ‘under the sea’ excursion you just have to experience at least once!  Check out this Video

Helmets
Kitted up in wet suits and fitted with surface supplied helmets accompanied by fully trained professionals, you step down into the crystal clear calm waters of the Mediterranean Sea, surrounded by marine life.  Walking comfortably on the sand to a depth of about 3 or 4 metres, or about 10 to 12 feet in English, where you’ll be able to feed the fish and enjoy a unique experience that’s suitable for the whole family.

What’s On Crew
In fact, I met the original owner Gill when he launched Undersea Adventures in Protaras back in 2002 and I loved the idea so much we took the whole What’s On crew to give it a go, and let me just say, it was so much fun, a memory I’ll treasure forever, and I even bought the T-Shirt.

You can’t swim?
No, problem! … No lessons or swimming abilities are required.  The helmets are very easy to deal with and you can even wear your glasses and adjust them or just scratch your nose while under the water, it’s weird lol … oh and btw, in case you think you’re too old, John and the crew once had the pleasure to guide an 86 year old lady, that’d had two hip replacements, absolutely amazing, so no excuses!!!

The Crew
John’s a Diving Instructor, and a Scouser, and Paul is from Yorkshire and most of the multilingual crew have been together for 7 years now and they’ll safely and expertly guide you from start to finish.  They are all experienced divers and coincidently all mechanics, Christian laughed when he said “so we can fix all our own stuff, servicing and sanitizing all the wet suits and equipment every excursion”.

Selfies
Naturally, you’ll get a chance to get some unique underwater photos and videos, coz they’ll video your ‘Under the Sea’ adventure and hand you a GoPro and then send it all to you digitally, so you can treasure your day forever … Their prime goal is to get 100% smiling faces and tbh, they always do!

Bobs … aka Undersea Scooters
They also have a 007 Experience … That’s 4 Bobs, which have individual air tanks attached to your underwater scooter.  The unique European experience lasts for about 30 minutes, after a quick briefing on how to operate the Bobs, which is actually really easy, your guides will lead you on an underwater exploration, collecting different things for you to see along the way.  You can even link up with your friends while they’re enjoying their helmet-dive experience … Brilliant!

Equipment
Wet suits and shoes are provided, but we recommend you take a towel, sun cream and water.  Transportation from your hotel is all part of this first-class service and a truly original adventure for all the family!  Check out their Facebook Videos here.
