I recently popped in to do a catch-up with Nicos, whom I met when he opened Blazing Saddles in 1999, back then, he was one of the first to go all wooden ‘n cowboy style. The film, ‘Blazing Saddles’ is still one of my favourites and without a doubt, this is one of my favourite pubs, because they always make me feel at home!
The Legend of the west
The decor is wood everywhere, with wooden tables, benches and stools, proper saddles for some selfies, horse ‘n wagon wheels, Cacti galore and a huge bar, ‘well stocked’ is an understatement. I often pop in for one of their Fresh Arabic Coffees!
On Draught
Beers on draught include Carling, Fosters, Becks, Keo, Carlsberg, Leon, Ice Cold Guinness, Magners and perfectly chilled Strawberry & Lime Koppenberg, Strongbow and Thatchers Ciders served on ice! and instead of chewing-tobacco you can strike up the charcoal with a delicious exotic flavour cooled to your liking to share with your friends!
Entertainment
Famed for their fantastic pub food and quality nightlife in Coral Bay. In the summer season, you’ll find live entertainment every night. There’s tribute acts, everyone’s favourites like Elvis . Boy George . Micheal Jackson . Lady Gaga . Robbie Williams and even Tom Jones, plus an awesome Cabaret Show with gorgeous dance girls and all the feathers and glitter!
On the Menu
There’s just so much to choose from, starting the day at 9 am for a traditional English Breakfast or Big it Up to a Blazzing Breakfast adding grilled Halloumi and chips if you’re really hungry, should clear that hangover! There’s Toasted Sandwiches, and Fresh Cut Salads, Jacket Potatoes with loads of different fillings, Homemade Pies served with delicious Mash and Gravey or chips or both! You must try their Pasta, the Carbonara is my favourite.
On the Grill
All cowboys love their BBQ Grills so just wait ’til you try their Huge Pork Chops, and btw, their Lamb Grills are to die for!, oh and btw, a TakeAway Service is available.
From the Sea
Nicos loves his seafood so expect to find several seafood selections, including a fantastic Fish Meze for a crazy low price!
Steak Specialities
Arguably the best steak in town and at a very reasonable price! Choose a tasty Rib Eye or Pure Irish Fillet flame-grilled, cooked perfectly, and to your liking or Sauteed in your favourite sauce Mmmm! … and let’s not forget their traditional Sunday Lunch with all the trimmings.
Mexican Cowboys
I have so many favourites here, but The Blazing Mexican Burger is numero uno, it’s a taste bud explosion, served with real hand-cut chips of course, and maybe try a few Fajitas for starters served with their secret Salsa sauce that’ll make you salllllssssaa!
Behind the Bar
You’ll find all your favourite tipples, apart from the draught beers. Specially selected wines and imported spirits and one or two you’ll probably not find anywhere else … btw, their cocktails are awesome, mixed to perfection and a must for Happy Hours, with 8 very special offers that change daily, where you get around 50% off … OMG! Imagine what happens when they have their, more than occasional, ‘Happy Days’ !!!
Live Sports
With 10 big screens and 3 top-class projector screens, you’ll be sure to catch the live footie, rugby, tennis, Olympics, F1 and just about anything you want to see. They often show 5 different events on a Saturday afternoon … meanwhile there’s 3 Pool Tables, Air Hockey, Darts, Video Games, Table Games like Backgammon, two of the latest Boxing & Fottie machines and loads more.
