It’s November, my favourite month, mainly coz the long hot summer is definitely over, or is it? coz we predicted we're gonna have another Indian Summer, with temperatures expected as high as 28°C this month it looks like we were right.  So, you’ll still be able to wear shorts and tee-shirt by day, and even chill around the pool or pop down to the beach to top up the tan for Christmas, did I just say Christmas? omg! …

It’s Autumn, so it’s a bit chilly swimming in the pool in the morning, but it's still warm enough to swim in the sea, sunny enough to get a tan, warm enough to wear shorts and a t-shirt all day and maybe you'll have to put on long sleeves by night, but I don’t think we’ll need a quilt on the bed 'til November

It’s definitely time to get down to the beach or next to a pool to get that lovely tan, but please be careful, the sun in Cyprus is very strong, burn time is about 20 minutes, so slap on the Factor 50, which I call ‘a bandage’ and it’s probably going to be sunny tomorrow so there’s no rush.

Fāinā told me "We originally opened a French restaurant in Makarios Avenue, introducing Lebanese cuisine after 2 years, but when we moved our restaurant here we switched to a Lebanese Restaurant with just a few French dishes as our customers were mostly locals.  These days its a more varied international mix as more and more tourists have discovered us.  As the years past, we found more and more of our customers were asking us to cook French cuisine for them".  She laughed and said "ha! but many restaurants cook Frogs Legs, but none can cook them like ours!  And, then she added; just wait til you try our Duck!"

By the time all the Welsh and their very able assistants have recovered from those parties we’ll be into our annual carnival season, starting on Friday 4th March, much as we’re not allowed to have carnival parades again this year, we are allowed to drink at the bars and maybe dance on them too, so many bars, restaurants and clubs will celebrate by throwing a carnival party or two anyway ... so stay tuned here.

I also love December coz we get all those lovely sunsets, without heat haze, just stunning to say the least and on some days those invigorating walks along costal paths on stormy days, and the spray from the white horses, refreshing your smile.  Meanwhile the aura of the Mediterranean is a natural source of Iodine, really good for the immune system btw

With the current thing relaxing a bit, we’ll also probably see a few more winter opening parties than last year, so if you thought Cyprus is dead in November, you should look again!  Those that opened to fit an 8 month season into 3 or 4 months seemed to have been busy, partly coz there was less places open, but some were very busy and btw on that note it still makes sense to book a table, just in case.

Anyway, as I was saying, Indian summer, beach ’til Christmas, topping up the tan, sounds good to me … and, we hear there’s frost in Europe, sounds even better, haha, suffer , and, as in Cyprus, we live for the table!, dining outside in October is heaven, hey, why else do we live here?  And, on that note, there’s enough restaurants open in our Eating Out category to choose a different cuisine every day for a fortnight! ... I have to say I was extremely impressed with her portfolio everything from gorgeous chapels, carefully selected hotels, mostly 4 & 5 Star like The Grand Hotel Limassol and the Elysium in Kato Paphos, and perfect beach side restaurants, with flowing lawns down to the sea or maybe 5 star golf courses with more than impressive 19th holes and of course to compliment your selection; VIP caterers that will conjure up your perfect menu, and top photographers to capture that moment and cinematographers to capture it live.
