I’ve been shopping here for about 30 years … preferring to buy my fruit and vegetables fresh, and from a dedicated greengrocer, because I always believed the produce will be fresher, and of course to support our local traders … btw, this family are awesome and always make me welcome even if all I want is a pink grapefruit … oh, and they’re now providing a Free Home Delivery Service …

Convenience
I love the way they attacked the Covid-19, aka the corona crises, and immediately introduced a delivery service to the Paralimni and surrounding areas … so now you can enjoy, the freshest of fruit and vegetables, carefully selected and delivered to your door … They can also supply an extensive list of essentials, like milk, coffee, rice, pasta and pulses, liver pate, cheeses, halloumi, cold cuts, flour and loads more … Delivery is free for orders over €15 or a €2 delivery fee is charged … btw, all credit cards are accepted

Respected
It’s a family business, launched by Antreas’ grandfather Andreas, in Famagusta, back in 1969 … but the family lived in Paralimni, so in 1974, they moved their business home …. Dad Pavlos, took the helm in ’86 and they got bigger and moved down the road and naturally forty years later, they’re highly respected by the local community, servicing many top hotels and restaurants in the area …

Four Decades
Antreas and Christina are the third generation, growing up, helping in the shop and of course gaining the experience of over four decades in business … Antreas explained “over the years our family have carefully selected our local farms and suppliers, each for their specialist products, to make sure we offer the best possible produce, keeping it as local as possible to assure freshness, and for exotic fruits, if we can’t find it locally, we only import from the best”

Seedless
Well situated, inside you’ll find a nicely laid out selection, to the left and back, the fruit, seasonal or not, oranges, apples, grapefruit, kiwi, honeydew melons, watermelons, plums, nectarines, peaches, fresh ginger, and grapes to mention but a few and most with a variety, and graded … tbh, I eat fresh fruit salad every morning, it’s so good for you! … oh, and I can’t wait for the seedless Watermelons to arrive!

Veggies
To the right, the fresh vegetables, in the main from local farms, that deliver direct to their shop missing out the middle man, just that little bit fresher, especially the Cyprus Potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, capsicum, courgettes, peppers, vine leaves, and fresh greens …

Mountains
Throughout the long hot summer, dad Pavlos still makes the trip up to the mountains three times a week to find local and wild produce, things like, wild mushrooms, asparagus, snails, homemade yogurts, pulses, flower, beans, oh and the Root called Africado that is used to dye eggs red at Easter time that to mention but a few …

Assortments
There’s a fridge stocking dairy products like fresh milk, freshly squeezed fruit juices with no preservatives, yogurts, cheeses, cold cut meats, washed salads, fresh free range eggs, oh and quails eggs, pickles, and homemade delicacies, including the best homemade Halloumi you’ll ever taste … plus sea salt, Greek dips, jams, oh and Pomegranate, peeled, separated, in a tub and ready to eat …

Special Offers
There’s always something on offer, for example carrier bags of Potatoes, or Marmalade oranges, and even big bags of bananas, or strawberries, for only €2 … oh, and one of my fav things, that few people know about, is their selection of homemade breads, handmade specially for Papetta … just wait ‘til you taste them … all in all, one visit and you’ll understand why I’ve been shopping here for 30 years …

You’ll find Papetta’s at 177, Protaras Road, Paralimni … it’s about 300 metres up slope from Metro Supermarket on the slip road, and close to Prozomi Bakers and opposite the Computer shop … with sloped access and ample free on street parking … see map below ….
