I’ve know George and Eva Melekkis since my first visit here in 1987, and they are now without a doubt one of, if not the leading Jewellers in Cyprus. Their shop in Protaras is a compliment to their success, making it more convenient for their repeat clients holidaying in Protaras. Much as many will still take the short drive to the beautifully designed Melekkis Centre in Paralimni, which in turn is a compliment to their success story, where from humble beginnings in their tiny shop in Dherynia back in 1979, George and his wife Eva, began to build their dream.

Watches & Fine Timepieces
Over a delicious coffee, George told me, “I studied in Switzerland in 1977, graduating with a Master’s Degree in Watchmaking, so you’ll appreciate that I recognise fine timepieces. We represent some of Switzerland’s finest watchmakers, including top names like Maurice Lacroix, Rado, Longines, Hamilton, Roamer and Calvin Klein”. They also provide a first-class watch service and repair that I’ve used several times, and at crazy low prices, in fact, often complementary to their clients.

I was there as Georgios & Eva’s children grew up and followed in their parents’ footsteps; youngest son Panayiotis and daughter Stavri qualified in Gemmology & Jewellery Design in Italy, and their eldest son Alexandros in Jewellery Making. Together, the family use the latest technology to exclusively design unique jewellery, all on display for your shopping pleasure. Specialising in handmade jewellery designs, created in their own workshop and expertly crafted in 9ct, 14ct and mostly 18ct Gold, White Gold and Platinum.

George also presents many quality diamond pieces and an impressive selection of gemstones sold separately, and as diamonds are one of their specialities, expect to find some very nice stones here, graded to GIA or HRD Standards, and backed by a worldwide guarantee.

An unusual speciality, Melekkis Jewellers are happy to accept your old family jewellery to craft into new, modern and totally unique designs, so that the person who gave it to you will remain close to you forever. Individual ideas and designs are created using 3D Technology, so you’ll be able to see the design printed before it’s handmade for you in their workshops.

Melekkis Jewellery is always a hive of activity, as many of George’s clients have visited several times before. If you’re in Protaras pop into their shop to have a look around, chances are one of the family will be there, and it’ll be the first step in a delightful shopping experience. Alternatively, George is happy to arrange a complimentary chauffeured car to collect you from your hotel or home and take you to The Melekkis Centre and return you with your new purchase, all part of their 5 Star Personal Service.
