We were invited by the lovely Lisa Lucas to Soul in the Sun at La Plage Beach Restaurant in Latchi . It was a cool choice for her 10th Soul in the Sun Cyprus event and followers came from far and wide, including 20 from Pissouri, and me from Paralimni 😉
Lisa has gathered quite a cool fan club and I’d heard a bit about it, but didn’t realise the movement is connected to Soul in the Sun back home in Essex … They’re doing weekenders and holidays abroad and here I was just going to my first event, much as it won’t be my last coz it was awesome …
A BBQ buffet night of Soul, Reggae, Motown, R&B, and a little Funk . the backdrop was the beach and the sea and the party was non stop, and included DJ ChrissyB from Rock FM and the gorgeous Simone Swift singing us a few songs, god she’s got some energy …
Highlight of my evening was catching Dru Chapman, and watta performance . He really has got soul … check out some of my vids on YouTube …

Lisa tells me that the Soul in the Sun Cyprus event is growing and she’ll be taking it to even more venues next year … look out for the next big event on Guy Fawkes Night … It’s about time we get you over on the east coast … anyone interested ?
