I was invited as a VIP Guest by the awesome Nicky P of DJS Cyprus to Sunset Tribes Festival on Governors Beach in Limassol, so I grabbed my able assistant for the night ‘Ian’ and off we went to catch the second day … btw, I went last year and the set up was amazing .. 3 Stages, on the beach, each with their own music genre all the way down to Drum ‘n Bass … oh and in case you didn’t know Nicky P is one of Ayia Napa’s pioneer DJ’s coz he was there in the early days …
This year just the two stages, both house, one more classic and the other more EDM … and the place was buzzing … Nicky had forgotten to put my name on the door but with a little persuasion the girls let us in, with a white wrist band … next find VIP area and Nicky … again with a little more persuasion, but bigger security guards, we were in and I was taking pictures one minute and punching the air the next, sometimes at the same time lol
The line up over the Friday & Saturday was 45 Top international and Local DJ’s including names like Adzee, Chris Garcia, D-Formation, Paul Anthonee, Tash, The Advocate and Lake Avalon to mention bit a few … from Cyprus the brilliant Steve Richards of Castle Club fame and Valentino Assioti, Demi, Nicolas G, Dimi Kass and our hosts, Nicky and Antony, who’s proper job are DJ’s Los Veteranos, who btw have a brilliant set up helping up and coming DJ’s to make it to the posh turntables … some even made it here …
I have to say, listening to house with your toes on the sand and the waves splashing behind you and pure house pumping outta I don’t know how many Watts but I expect they could hear it in the City, 10 miles away lol … I didn’t give a’fk the music was awesome, everyone was well into the mix and I couldn’t stop thinking this is the best house event in Cyprus this year … so far 😉 … Thanks for the invite Nicky, it was sick, I’ll be back next year for sure!
