I love meeting people that have a passion for their work! … Athena Nicolaou is certainly one of those people! We originally met briefly back in the mid 90’s but Athena has come a long way since then … Specialising in weddings and special events, Athena has created a excellent portfolio of venues and pretty much everything you’ll need to make your event, very special.
Luxury
Athena, from a manor well known to me in London, came to Cyprus way back in 1992 and moved back to the UK in 2000. Whilst here working in the hospitality industry Athena said it was sort of a luxury travel agents, booking things like cruises, top car hire, private Jeep Safari’s and well you name it, Athena would find it … These days she’s travelling back and forth consistently handling event consultancy, mainly weddings, christenings, birthday parties, anniversaries, and cooperate events!
Portfolio
I have to say I was extremely impressed with her portfolio everything from gorgeous chapels, carefully selected hotels, mostly 4 & 5 Star like The Grand Hotel Limassol and the Elysium in Kato Paphos, and perfect beach side restaurants, with flowing lawns down to the sea or maybe 5 star golf courses with more than impressive 19th holes and of course to compliment your selection; VIP caterers that will conjure up your perfect menu, and top photographers to capture that moment and cinematographers to capture it live.
Styled
We talked about some of her past events and how Athena loves to put together your special event, completely styled to meet your requests, so if you want something traditional, she’s got venues to suite and if you prefer something more modern Athena has plenty to suit, whether it’s for only 10 to 15 of you or 150, or even Cyprus style of 5,000 guests!
Fashion
Following in her father’s and grandfathers footsteps, as to be honest many Cypriots do, Athenas’ trade is in the fashion wear business. Specialising in wedding dresses, evening dresses, bridesmaid dresses and tailored suites from London. You should see some of the gorgeous dresses she showed me and gents’ attire that’ll make you look pucker!
Challenges
Athena loves a challenge so if you’re looking for a night out at the Bouzouki, count it done! The service extends to things like Hair dressers, make up artists, fireworks, lunchtime meetings, and airport concierge with chauffeur driven limousines if that’s what you fancy!
In the know
Athena make life easier for you because she has built an enviable portfolio of contacts that will impress you … all you have to do is tell her the dates of your event, how many people you’ll be inviting and give her a rough budget to work with and as many fancies that you have and like many of her previous clients, you’ll end up recommending her too.
First Steps
Athena normally likes to communicate by email first, then a couple of on line chats followed by a personal contact meeting to get your fantasies and dreams, and prefers to have a minimum of two months notice. But if you’re in a rush give her a call, because if anyone can do it, this extraordinary lady with a passion for events probably can!
