This wonderful children’s adventure is back for the 9th year running with lots more enchanting fun and magic! … oh, and trust me, there’s nothing quite like watching your kids’ faces when they spot the mermaids for the first time! … it’s priceless!
The Cruise
The story begins as any good story should; ‘Once upon a time’ there were two mermaids … the kids all listen with a sense of anticipation … then there’s a fun treasure hunt led by their onboard characters; Pirate Billy Bones and the delightful Tinkerbell to keep the nippers occupied.
There They Are!!!
As we get closer to Blue Lagoon, it’s everyone to the front of the boat coz it’s time to spot the real live mermaids, normally we find them basking in the sun on the rocks at the gorgeous Blue Lagoon and guess what? if you shout out loud enough, they’ll dive in and you’ll have the chance to swim with them in the beautiful crystal clear, safe waters of the lagoon.
Swim Stops
There are life jackets on board for kids and grown-ups, oh and don’t worry there are lifeguards on board for your added safety. The water in Blue Lagoon is crystal clear and the mermaids will dive off the rocks into the sea and swim to the boat to entertain and interact with your children as they swim together and pose for photos both in the water and on the back of the boat, oh btw the mums get to pose with them too 😉
Face Painting
On the way back you can admire the rugged terrain, as Captain Vakis aka Captain Jack, takes you for a wonderful cruise along the coast of Protaras taking in things like Fig Tree Bay, stunning Konnos Bay, Shark Tooth Cave, Lovers Bridge, Ayioi Anargori Church, Angelina Bay, and beautiful Protaras bay … pulls in and out of the caves and caverns, it feels like it’s so close to the rocks you could push them off!
Ready to Dance
Meanwhile, for the children, there’s a Mini Disco upstairs with Billy Bones the Pirate leading the way. And my favourite, the gorgeous Tinkerbell provides the face painting and glitter tattoos on the lower deck for a small fee. They also provide snacks like sausage rolls, mini pizza and pies for munchies.
Before 11?
Naturally, there’s a fully stocked bar with all your favourite drinks, soft or not, plus they’ll mix you an exotic cocktail, my fav is their Pina Colada, Mmm! … Just wait til you see the kids’ cocktails and slush puppies.
Meeting Point
The Mermaid Cruise sails every Saturday morning and the cruise lasts just over 2.5 hours. They meet at 10.30 am at the Golden Coast Harbour, in Pernera, Protaras with easy access for prams and buggies … There’s also disabled access and toilets … please note this is the meeting time and they set sail at 10.455 pm. Returning back to dry land at 1.15 pm ‘ish

You can either book your tickets through Facebook, call them on Tel: 0035799586726 or at various Tour Offices in Protaras including Titan Travel in Protaras and in Pernera. You can even purchase them on the Medusa website or just come down to the Harbour on the day, a little earlier if possible please, oh and just check out their Tripadvisor Page
Transport
If you contact them they can arrange transport from the local area as far as Ayia Napa for a really good price … €6 Return from Protaras and €8 from Ayia Napa
Directions
To join The Original Mermaid Cruise head for the Golden Coast harbour … take the turning opposite Kama Lifestyle Hotel, by The Eye Kiosk heading for the sea … and drive to the Harbour where there’s ample parking, look for the biggest boat moored at the end of the slope … and lets memories
