Time to Plan
Every year, I share with you our upcoming Bank Holidays and Public Holidays.  There’s 17 this year, and just in case you hadn’t realised, our first Bank Holiday is, of course, New Year’s Day, and the extra day on Friday 2nd January, Might as well make it a long weekend.

In the Fields
The next is Green Monday, aka Kathari Deftera, which, literally translated, actually means Clean Monday, falling on the Monday, 23rd February this year.  It’s officially the start of Lent, also known as Ash Monday.  In true Cypriot fashion, it’s the day we dress up, paint our faces, go out to the fields and light BBQs and stop eating meat ’til that lovely BBQ Lamb, 49 days later on Easter Sunday, 12th April.

Long Weekends
Follow us on one of our social media apps for up-to-date info about What’s On … oh, and Bank Holidays fall on any day of the week here, so with 3 Mondays and 4 Fridays on the calendar, we’ll get 7 long weekends this year! … oh, and 3 midweek breaks … I’d better stock up on the charcoal!
