On The Beach
I first met Pavlos last summer, leaning on a fence, puffing on a huge Cuban cigar, overseeing the construction of what looked like a skeleton of an event marquee at Trinity Beach in Kapparis. I was more than impressed at the precision of the teamwork, erecting this huge marquee tent frame for a wedding reception, without ladders or a crane, like a jigsaw puzzle, slotting one piece into another. I couldn’t resist asking if he was the boss, and when he confirmed my thoughts, I had to say I was very impressed and asked if I could find out more …
Head Office
We arranged a meeting to interview Pavlos, so I popped up to their head office in Nicosia, and when I arrived, I was equally impressed, a huge, glass marquee party tent attached to the office. I could tell immediately this place was the business! … Sadly, Pavlos had been called out on an emergency, so over a lovely coffee, I had a chat with Athena, head of sales.
Choose A Theme
I asked Athena to tell me a bit about Party City, she said, “We’re the biggest rental company in Cyprus, covering the whole of the island with Catering, Rental Equipment and Party Decoration, with over 100 different Party Themes, from 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, to Casino nights, James Bond, Holywood, Greek Night, Mexican, Wild West, Glow in The Dark, Zombie, and of course Christmas, |Easter and New Year, to mention but a few, and of course Corporate Events, Business Presentations and naturally their speciality, Weddings” … I asked 7 days and week?, she smiled and said, “Of Course!”

As Athena and I continued our conversation, I became even more impressed with the setup. Seriously, this company is way up there at the top of their industry. It also seemed blatantly obvious that the owner, Pavlos, was totally passionate about his business. Having studied in the USA, he stayed 10 years, ending up as General Manager in a top hotel. But his dream was to return to Cyprus to launch this business, as I said, with a passion and irrefutable enthusiasm and in 2012, he succeeded when he launched Party City Cyprus.
Natural Creative
I asked Athena Where did all these ideas come from’? She explained, “Pavlos is a natural creative with a powerful vision and dares to try things a little differently. We now have nine offices around Cyprus, a huge warehouse, transportation lorries, and employ dozens of people. Slowly but surely, we’ve become the best and now offer Bands, Celebrities, Choirs, Dancers, DJ’s, Kids’ Entertainers, Special Effects, and Entertainment Rentals”.

I asked her to tell me more … Athena continued, “If you want to host your own party or event, we can rent you so many of the accessories we’ve built up in our stock. Decoration Rentals, like Balloons, Tables and Chairs, Arches, with all the table settings, including china, glassware, linen, an unending amount of Lighting Decor with clubbing style RGB Moving Heads, AV Equipment, in fact, our list is endless”.

Whilst building the cornucopia of accessories for parties, they’ve also added Venue City, including their Blue Venue, Green Venue, Light Venue and Sky Venue … Plus the newest addition that I had the pleasure to visit recently, Mountain City up in the hills above Limassol, 21,000 sq mtrs of party venue with Panoramic Views, swimming pools, waterfalls, a delicious buffet room, five-star decor and service staff.
