A New Chapter
I was recently invited to a presentation aimed at introducing special events agents and wedding co-ordinators to Poseidon Wedding Venue, at the amazing Di Capilla Seaside Stories, in the Pernera Area of Protaras … I knew this would be something very special, and I was right … so I arranged a meeting to catch up with the fabulous Raphaella, the new Events Co-ordinator and was more than pleasantly surprised by what they have in mind here …
The Journey
I first met local-born Raphaella while we were walking our dogs. She invited me for a delicious cappuccino, and I asked her to tell me more … She said, “I was born and bred in Cyprus but moved to Shropshire and Colchester in the UK from 2016 – 2021, where I studied modern languages, learning, English and German to add to my mother langiage, Greek and then worked in child support, but moved back to Cyprus during Covid … I then travelled all over Cyprus, working with Port Authorities, and during my travels I met Aliki, with two decades experience in Wedding Coordination … She’s now my right-hand woman”!
Events
I asked Raphaella about the swing towards events at Di Capilla … She said, “I got this position when I accidentally met Louis while applying for an administration position. Next thing I knew, I was doing all the weddings and events coordinating, which led to multiple positions, including event management, reservations and co-ordination”.
Evolving
We discussed the transition at Di Cappilla Seaside Stories, without a doubt one of the area’s top eateries, led by the infamous consultant chef Louis Papageorgiou and co-owner and wonderful maître d’ Savvas, both boasting decades of experience in the hospitality industry in Cyprus. Raphaella said, “Over the past few years, this fabulous restaurant has attracted many locals and visitors alike to host their special events here, including an ever-increasing number of weddings”.
God of The Sea
Raphaella continued, “We are privileged to be able to offer our couples the opportunity to host a truly unforgettable seaside wedding ceremony in collaboration with Paralimni Municipality on the stunning ‘Poseidon Deck’, immediately in front of the restaurant. So our wedding couple can exchange their vows on this stunning coastline, just a few metres from the sea,” Raphaella added, “Then you can continue your day with an intimate, beautifully hosted dining experience, making memories that’ll last forever!”
Multi Choices
I asked Raphaella to tell me more. She smiled, “We offer numerous options because we understand that everyone is different and no event is the same as another. For smaller events up to 80 people, we have a Private area of the restaurant, an elegant reception area, perfect for mingling, toasts and sunset moments, that can extend to an outdoor area that can accommodate up to 110 people. And naturally, the central event area links seamlessly to the terrace, offering stunning views and flexibility for stylish dining, dancing and entertainment. You can, of course, hire the whole venue, accommodating up to 300 guests if you so wish.
Live for The Table
Cyprus has, over the past 30 years, become one of Europe’s favoured places to get married. That’s partly down to the traditional Cypriot hospitality that oozes naturally from your hosts here at Di Capilla Seaside Stories. I just have to mention, one thing’s for sure, you’ll find nothing is rushed here, nothing is accidental, from the location to its space, the light, the sound of the sea, the ambience, the food and the people, all move as one … Every dish is created to bring families and friends together, under the guidance of founder and consultant chef Louis Papageorgiou, cuisine is not designed to impress for a moment, but to be remembered forever!!!
Another Level
There are numerous options for your menu, from Buffets to Set Menus, with several choices for each course, or just go Fish or Meat Meze Style … Maybe you’ll prefer to host a cocktail party with hot and cold finger food … with optional extras and top-ups. And as Louis says, “The Menu you are about to choose is more than a meal; it becomes part of your story”
Behind the Bar
Every celebration must have a toast, so they’ve got that covered too … from welcome aperitifs and exotic cocktails to open bars, by the hour, bubbles, and naturally your favourite tipple sold by the shot, quarter or whole bottles … Raphaella added, “We’ve also just created refreshing ‘Sparkling Reception Cocktails’, with many different options including, Aperol Spritz or Limon Cello Spritz, refreshing to say the least … or wait til you try the Belini or their Mimoza, both got a wicked kick”!
Kids
Kids here are as important as the table, so they’ll make considerations for them too, particularly with menu choices. More than that, at Di Capilla there’s an enclosed, colourful kids’ playground within the venue, with a Bouncy Castle, Slides, and Climbing frames to keep them occupied for hours in a safe environment …
