The dangerous bend has become the dangerous T Junction …
let me put it simply …
Heading to the sea
So if you were driving downhill on Girorki Papadopoulou from Paralimni Police Station, past Pop Life to the dangerous bend, you would normally have right of way going right around the bend, without indicating, into Megalos Alexandrou, the same heading down towards Kapparis, signalling left to go straight ? …
So, now, you only have right of way, going straight down towards Kapparis and there’s no need to indicate, coz you’re not turning left anymore . However, turning right, or once going around the bend to the right, requires you to give way to the traffic coming up hill from Kapparis, who now have right of way … coz it’s a T Junction ?…
Going up hill
Driving up hill on Girorki Papadopoulou from Kapparis to the dangerous bend, you used to have to Stop and give way to traffic approaching the dangerous bend from both directions, indicating which way you wanted to turn, left for left, and right for straight ? … Now you have right of way both ways, i.e. turning left into Megalos Andreaou, or continuing up hill to the police station on the lights …
So, please don’t stop on the brow of the hill, that isn’t there anymore ? you know, where you used to stop, but i suggest you slow down and take care, as the cars coming down hill from the police station used to have right of way, cutting in front of you without indicating, driving around the bend as they once had right of way … which they don’t anymore and the traffic from the left has to stop, coz it’s now a T Junction ?? …

So approaching the dangerous bend from Megalou Andreaou, where OSEA Buses are, you once had right of way going around the bend to the left, heading for Pop Life, without indicating, but had to give way to traffic coming down hill from your left, if you wanted to turn right, naturally indicating right … and of course cars coming up hill from Giorki Papadopoulou had to give way to everyone … Now its a T-Junction . you have to Stop and give way to everyone …
This bit is f’ked up, coz of course the guys coming from your right up hill now have right of way, only indicating if they wanna turn left, and the guys coming down hill have to give way to the guys coming up hill, if they want to turn right … of course they didn’t used to have to do that … hmm why a T Junction ???
It’s driving me around the Bend !
I have to combat this junction regularly … So if you’re getting my drift ? it’s just as bleeding dangerous now, or it will be, ’til we all work it out ??? … And as of course, mirror, signal, manoeuvre, obviously isn’t part of the Cypriot Driving Test, we’re gonna be even more road raged on this once dangerous bend, that’s now become a dangerous T Junction !!!
Why the fk didn’t they just put a mini roundabout there ???
