I was recently invited to catch up with the awesome Lefteries at the new-look Bliss Bar in Protaras … a local lad, we go back over 25 years, to his early days at Trotters Bar in Ayia Napa, circa 1999 … I even found a copy of his old ad in our mag from back then … we spoke about the old days, there’s nothing like a little nostalgia …
Entertainment
I asked Lefteries, what happened next? .. he said; “in 2007, sadly I was forced to close Trotters Bar, and decided to launch ‘Star Entertainment Agency’ providing Animators, Top Tribute Acts, and Dancers, too many hotels around Cyprus”. In fact, he still is, and it’s growing every year, much as these days he’s got his fingers in many pies … Including his partnership with his lovely wife Laura at Alati International Restaurant in Timi Village right next to Paphos Airport, since 2020 …
A Family Thing!
These day’s their 3 kids, are all involved … first born ‘Loukritta’ takes care of the company accounts, ‘Constantinos’ takes care of the management and ‘Anggeliki’ looks after all the hospitality, making it truly a family business.
Dream Come True
So, I asked Lefteris to tell me more; he said, “I decided to grab the chance to reopen Bliss Bar in Protaras because I thought it would be a good idea to combine the bar with my entertainment agency featuring our finest entertainers and so far it’s working like a dream” …
A Landmark
Bliss Bar, in the middle of the strip, hardly needs an introduction, but its new ambience does … One of the largest bars in Protaras, once a bit of a posh bar, almost totally frequented by locals staying at the adjacent Vrissianna Beach Hotel. These days it blends in well with the touristy bars, looking to provide top entertainment, top quality drinks and cocktails with a first-class attentive crew.
Al Fresco
It’s very open-air style, wooden decking, the island bar built in pure granite, its marble grain perfectly lit up from inside, eye-catching to say the least … spacious tables and comfy seating, up high huge grey sails offering a bit of cover on humid nights, and external aircon units assisted by big fans oh and, a really cool light and sound system installed by my very good friend Andreas at DJS Professional Sound and Light.
Behind The Bar
Naturally, there’s a good chance they’ll serve your favourite tipple. If not, you really must try their Bliss Cocktails. Head Barman Yiannis aka John is a mixologist extraordinaire. Their signature cocktail; a blend of Aperol, passion fruit and soda water … other top sellers include; their Frozen Strawberry Daqueries, a blend of Rum, strawberry puree, Lime squash and soda … For the full menu see the gallery below …
The Best
Top sellers are their Mojitos and Porn Star Martini’s and John swore me to secrecy but I’ll just say you gotta try them … oh and, a night on the town has to finish with one or two shots, do try their Jagarbombs, Baby Guinness or Tequila Tequila!!!!
On The Stage
Every night from 8.00 ’til 12.30 they have at least 2 or 3 different shows … about 8 pm Andros will woo you with his guitar, playing all the classics to get you singing and in the party mood … Then at least one tribute act, my favourites include Micael Jackson, Rod Stewart, Bon Jovi, Elvis, Tom Jones and Robbie Williams to mention but a few … oh and the occasional cooool surprise!
Happy Hours
Every Night Happy Hours are between 6 pm and 8.30 pm where all House Cocktails, Local Beers are €3 … or you can opt for an Open Bar …
Live Sports
Boasting 8 Big Screen TV’s so you can keep up to date with all your favourite sports including of course the Premier League and Champions League and Cups all with live commentary and often more than one game …
