It’s a democratic country, so you can choose to do almost anything you want here, and versatility is our speciality. It changes from the nightlife in Ayia Napa and dreamlike beaches of Protaras, through cosmopolitan Larnaca, even more so Limassol or inland to the sophisticated Nicosia, our divided capital. On through surreal mountain scenery in Troodos, down to Pafos for history in the present, extending up to the Akamas for pure tranquillity, now tell me that’s not versatile and I’ll put you on the next flight home.
They'll ask you how you'd like your meat, tidied, trimmed and cut, always doing that first before they weigh it and once you get to know these guys, you just say things like 'extra fine ground beef for bolognese, for four people' and they know how much to give you ... bear in mind they're Cypriot portions 😉 ... I often run through an order for my BBQ's and how many people are coming and Andreas says I think that's enough ... brilliant!
... naturally it would be rude not to accept a drink for the lift, so I popped into catch up with my good friend and head chef Xenis, a rocker of old, only to find out this lot have made it their home for the after parties ... cool choice !!!
... They definitely don't sell fast food here, they sell really good food as fast as they can and the menu is truly international, carefully prepared by Emma, ably assisted by 5 top chefs, headed up by Gavin and Andrew who conjure up a menu of international culinary delights to suite absolutely every taste, using only fresh local produce and imported delicacies ... and whatever you do you really must leave some room for dessert, or just go for desserts ... mmmm!
I love this place, the sounds of gears and links chinking, smothered by fair ground music, the smell of candy floss and bbq corn on the cob, the multi coloured lights and occasional girly screams. It's really cool idea coz you just buy a Wrist Band depending on your ages and what you want to do!
... and it's still not dark by 8.30 pm, the sea is now officially warm enough for the locals to get in and the quilt came off a week ago so we're sleeping under a sheet for the next few months, oh and as we come to the end of strawberry season, in comes the pipless watermelons, with a slice of fresh Halloumi for breakfast, hmm, we're so spoilt in paradise!
Chris Andre is way, way ahead of the competition in Cyprus ... When he's on stage, everyone dances !!!
