What's On Cyprus

As soon as you see this place, you'll know it oozes quality ... but tbh, it's much, much, more than it first seems ... Effectively, it's a mini resort, with a spacious area boasting a large swimming pool and cafe-style pool bar, surrounded by mature trees, delicious green lawn, palm sun shades, canvas sails and a lovely relaxed ambiance in a truly wonderful setting with free sunbeds and free WIFI ... and they're open all year except maybe January ...

So I asked Lefteris to tell me more; "I decided to grab the chance to reopen Bliss Bar in Protaras because I thought it would be a good idea to combine the bar with my entertainment agency and so far it's working like a dream ...

... it's an absolutely wonderful find, just off Kapparis Avenue, just over 200 metres to the beach, in one of my favourite areas in Cyprus, with a massive veranda, so you can relax overlooking the sea that’s about 200 metres away ...

This is without doubt, one of my fav places to sit and watch the world go by ...

Boasting a massive sunny garden bar terrace out front, delightful in the afternoon for a pint or a G&T and some excellent excellent pub grub.  It's just as popular by night where you can enjoy a massive drinks menu and live music every night, with lots of like minded people and, they even provide warm blankies to put over your knees for the chilly nights at the start and end of the season!

I love the tall beer barrel tables and stools!  Inside, it's all wood, comfy seating, chandeliers, a cool stage, wicked lighting, music posters, and rock memorabilia all over the place creating a really cozy atmosphere ... oh, and a well cool ambience that's made by lots of like-minded, live music, rock, blues and occasionally jazz freaks, of all ages and nationalities ...

One of the most popular bars in Protaras, staying open all year, it's British style with traditional Cypriot hospitality and great pub grub !

... But tbh, The Square Bar is better known for their Live Music, every night from 8.30 pm 'til late.  That's mostly down to Peter and Rob, of the legendary 'Live Lounge' in Cardiff fame, who told me "We partnered up with Panicos in 2014 to bring you the very best in live bands, duo and solo artists" ... This is without a doubt, one of my favourite bars on the strip and now one of my favourite eateries too ... I asked Andreas, why the '3 Jokers'?  He said in Cyprus, the Joker is the one that does all the jobs.  So I asked Floris what are you now, King of the Bar? He laughed and said ... No! I'm the Jack, here to keep the peace lol

The Grand Slam is a family run British style boozer, it's even on the corner, on the sunny side of the road, and once known as The Corner Pin, inside it looks busy, with quirky little designs mostly mums doing, I just love the Table Tops they're well cool ... There's music memorabilia all over the place with a professional light and sound system, a well stocked bar, with a lovely front terrace onto Kapparis Avenue ... it's a great stop off for an afternoon drink, good pub grub, and there's something happening here almost every night!
