It’s February, my favourite month, mainly because it’s Valentine’s Day and I love seeing the postman struggling to get all my cards in the letter box … oh it’s leap year this year, and as I’m single, I’m trying to think where to hide on Monday 29th … and of course spring is in the air, the blossoms are out, aromas everywhere and everything is just so green …
It’s also the February Sales for all you shop ’til you drop freaks, much as many of them started in January this year … so get out and find some bargains … its a good time to buy that last winter warmer …
oh yes, awesome news, we’re now officially boasting the best beaches in Europe, we were saying it years ago … with the best climate in the world and we’re the safest place in world, that’s why we all live here, and, well, we’ve got good reason to love it, its been partying here since the gods invented party some 12,600 years ago …
I love this time of the year … invigorating walks along stormy coastlines … most bars and restaurants have homely, warming open wood fires … or those awesome gas heaters … many have some wicked DJ’s mixing to mostly locals and a few tourists and long stayers … others, like Savino Live in Larnaca putting on live music every weekend …
There’s so much to do if you look around … Cyprus is so versatile, you’ll probably still be able to ski and snowboard up in the Troodos Mountains in the morning and swim in the med in the afternoon and the air is really clear, so you’ll still get a fab tan … It’s a great time to go touring and there’s plenty to see …
For the first time in Nicosia, they’ll be doing Blind Dates at 1010 Hall on February 14th, from 8pm ’til 11pm, you’ll have a chance to meet all candidates, chatting to each other for 5 minutes … the lovely Alice in Wonderland Concert is in Sotira, Ammochostos on the 21st … or go and give some support to the Royal Heart Charity Event on the 20th at Secret Valley Golf Club … for a full list of cultural events go to www.visitcyprus.com/wps/portal
I’ve noticed renovations everywhere, it’s nice to see our businesses putting a bit back into keeping in fashion … I believe most places are anticipating a bumper year … and as tourism seems to be swinging back to a British majority, Scandinavian and European market its starting to feel like the old days … The season should kick off early with promises from the tour operators and Easter falling on 1st May … bring it on !
The App is getting bigger daily, and our Facebook Page just surpassed 3000 Likes, all organic … the new web site is looking awesome, hopefully launching by March … We’re also getting Twitter and Instagram together, so get following and sharing guys and lets make this rock the best place in Europe …
