I love July, and you all know it's really my favourite month, partly coz it’s my birthday on the 27th and that means I’ve made it another year, and I’ll probably be throwing a party!  The main reason, of course, is it’s peak season, with temperatures in the shade in the high ’30s and it’s getting hotter through 'til August … 'bring it on', I say, we love it hot, that’s why we live here … Mmm, Don’t you just love Cyprus? ... On one of my afternoon visit's Rob wanted to get into the pool, and to my astonishment, the hotel had that covered too.  The lifeguards brought out this amazing winch-type harness, which has a secure borehole specifically poolside.  In a few minutes, the winch was set in its place, and they lifted Rob into the harness, which swivels over the water and lowers Rob onto a lilo so he can safely float, keeping his head above water.

It’s May already, and as many of you know, it's really my favourite month!  Apart from September, of course, but maybe the ‘summer’s really here’ thing, just tips that, ‘relief from the heat’ thing.  Seriously, it must be summer because we’re all in T-shirts, shorts and sandals, and we’ve put our boots away for at least the next 6 months! …

Its April, that means summer's well and truly here, with temperatures expecting to surpass the mid 30°s Centigrade ... There's loads happening all over Cyprus, coz Orthodox Easter is on Sunday April 20th so we're expecting it to be a really busy month with Cypriots travelling from all over the world to experience the heritage and culture of Easter in their home country ... check out Tony's preview here ... 'Tsiknopempti' in Cyprus’ aka Smoky Thursday or "Barbecue Thursday," and to us its any excuse to light a BBQ ... The beloved tradition in Cyprus that marks the beginning of the final stretch before Lent. Normally falling on the Thursday of the second week of the pre-Lenten period, this day is dedicated to indulging in grilled and roasted meats before the fasting season of Greek Orthodox Easter begins ... leading us to Green Monday.

It's February, I thought January was never gonna end?  Now, you just have to love February in Cyprus!  It's spring on the island of Aphrodite, our Goddess of Love and there's romance in the air, everywhere, especially on the 14th when we celebrate Valentine’s Day, which this year falls on a Friday so you might as well make love all weekend! ... oh and, I love watching the postman struggle to get all my cards in the little letterbox.
