It was 5th of November, as the sun set, I drove towards Dhekalia, I was thinking, I’ve always loved bonfire night since I was a kid, the smells of bonfires and fireworks are just awesome ! Hot potatoes in the fire, hot chestnuts roasting on the edge, mulled wine to keep your hands warm and boxes and boxes of fireworks to last all night … Sadly I’m a bit old for going penny for the guy’ing but a trip down to Dhekalia Base brings that element of back home to the 5th of November …
So, as my bro Vic was over from the UK in Larnaca, I met up with him at Lambros Fish & Chip shop, and in true Schwarzenegger fashion I said … I’ll be back !!!
A quick brisk walk, as we arrived the bonfire was well and truly lit … lighting up the skyline with the Larnaca coast as a backdrop, stunning … So time to grab a drink and decide if we should queue for a steak burger or hang on for fish & chips ?
The place was packed, kids everywhere all in anticipation … the fireworks were awesome . if only there was more … insatiable ! Oh well, next year … We’re off to Lambros, best Fish & Chips in Cyprus ! Mmmm !!!!
