I recently caught up my good friend Costas at Q Cocktail Bar. It’s one of my favourites and one of the busiest bars on the strip in Protaras. Recently renovated whilst expending the front crazy paved terrace to hold over 200 customers. Costas said “it was much needed, as entertainment is what it’s all about here and this season the famous local ‘Lithos Rock Band’ will play live here every night” …
Comfy
Set pretty much in the centre of the strip, on the sunny side of the road tastefully designed, its an open garden terrace style, with a retractable roof over almost half of the garden. Gorgeous big plant pots separating the pavement and a row of hand made high wooden tables and comfy stools and lots more lower hand made tables again with very comfy seating all day and night … Check out Q Bars’ Facebook Reviews here.
Centre Stage
At the back and centre stage a purpose built raised stage with moving head stage lighting for all the live music nights. The evenings starting around 9’ish with a little acoustic guitar by Panayiotis one of Lithos Rock Band’s line-up, who all join him on the stage at around 10 pm almost every night.
On TV
This excellent five piece band play a mixture of soft and classic rock and sing along favourites and I’m led to believe many others bands are planned to join them this season … Check out this video of their Lithos’ live performance on National TV PIK1
Perfect Light & Sound
Complementing the extremely tasteful architectural lighting, the sound system here is impeccable, the very robust Ecler speakers perfectly positioned for your listening pleasure by my very good friend and perfectionist, Andreas from DJS Professional Sound & Light.
Mixologists
It’s a cocktail bar so expect to find a really cool menu of cocktails made with premium spirits. Some of my favourites are the Frozen Cocktails, Lemon Margaritas and Strawberry Daiquiris, but you really must try the Cherry Frozen Gin a blend of Gin, cherry puree, triple sec and fresh lime juice. They also serve some really cool non-alcoholic cocktails for the kids.
Gin Cocktails
My absolute favourites here are the Gin Cocktails with your selection of 11 Premium Gins . The Watermelon Fizz a blend of Gordons gin, watermelon and fresh lime and if you like surprises go for the Gin Splash, they wouldn’t even tell me what’s in it!
Signature Cocktails
Costas has designed 5 Signature Cocktails, the Tiki Caribbean a spiced rum taste bud explosion but my absolute favourite is the ‘Pinky’, a blend of Pink Gin, Strawberry and Rose lemonade.
Cava
Costas told me they’re keeping it traditional personally selecting his favourite wines from Cyprus, many winning awards worldwide. In fact Cyprus produce some of the worlds finest wines, because our grapes are unbeatable!
Shooters
Naturally they serve all the Classic Cocktails and top selling Tropical Cocktails, my favourite the WooWoo, it’s vodka, peach snaps and cranberry juice. I love the Shooters; my faves the B52’s, Jager bombs and the ‘Baby Guinness’, a carefully poured Tia Maria & Baileys, so moreish!
Pioneers
I’ve known Costas an his father Panicos for over 30 years. They’re part of a pioneering local family that have been a part of what makes Protaras one of Europe’s top holiday resorts since the start. Costas told me about his plans for the future and I can assure you you’re in for a great night out every night!

The excellent crew offer traditional Cypriot hospitality to the extreme welcoming stag nights, hen nights, wedding parties and special events with special offers on cocktails and if you mention What’s On you’ll be in for a nice surprise. Up a Level
The new raised terrace bar overlooking the stage is more high benches, private lounge style with comfy seating. It’s a lovely area to reserve for a small party or big group of you! … Check out their TripAdvisor Reviews here
Sports
On both sides, high walls, with cool architectural lighting and 7 big screen TV’s for all the live sports … and on that note if you want them to show your favourite sporting event just ask and they’ll probably find it for you.
