Cyprus Rocks!
I’ve been talking to these guys since the launch of the Cyprus Rocks Festival back in 2017, then, I thought it was an awesome idea, and as Mario had chosen to move it to Cyprus of all places, I just wanted to do everything I could to make sure the festival was a success by telling our followers about it, and hoping they could make it an annual thing! … how cool would that be? …
Annually
Well it happened, and we were there, a slight hic-cup with pandemics and stuff, I was so excited to see the return of the Cyprus Rocks Festival in full force for 2024 … Much as many of us repeaters had a little ‘Lite Rocks’ festival each year to please the fans who not only fell in love with the festival but also Cyprus and still came to catch up with what’s now the Cyprus Rocks family.
Rock Your Socks Off!
So, for the 8th year in Cyprus, Iron Stallion Promotions are happy to be presenting the return of the full week-long Classic Rock Festival, 6 Nights of world-renowned tribute rock bands, who are gonna rock your socks off, because now they all know they can come back next year and do it again!
Ultimate Rock Holiday
Iron Stallion Promotions is Mario Ramjhun, coming out of Southampton, England … Their mission is to provide the Ultimate Rock Holiday for their clients, combining stunning visual locations in the sun, with sea and sand, and a unique live music festival, boasting many of the best tribute bands in the world.
Team Work
Putting on this festival is not a one-man job, so Mario has engaged an amazing team to help put the event together. Led by the awesome Drew Andreou of Savino Rock Bar and Savino Live fame, who is the Event and PR Manager for Iron Stallion Promotions and one of my good friends for many years.
On-Site
The Site & Operations Manager is my very good friend Graham Carmichael of GC Event Services. Both, Drew and Graham are highly respected in their fields, and Mario couldn’t have asked for a better team working alongside him … I have to agree!!!
It’s All Sorted!
I loved the idea from the minute I heard about it, and have spoken in depth to the team, and let me just say, they’ve crossed all the T’s and dotted all the I’s, they’ve done all their research, visited all the right places and consolidated contracts with companies for the successful production. OdioVibE from Nicosia will be producing the whole stage shows including a stunning light show and how many watts of power on that main stage???, on the gorgeous Trinity Beach, in the Pernera area of Protaras, hahaha this year I think they’re gonna hear it in Lebanon!
The Festival
Opening the festival on Thursday 3rd, it’s the Welcome Party at the stunning venue at Polyxenia by The Sea in Pernera … opening the week’s festivities will be the amazing Four Wheel Drive and closing the night, Hotter Than Hell, doing their tribute to Kiss like no other, all sponsored by Sarah and the team from Island Homes Estate Agents, just in case you decide to move here 😉
Main Stage
The weekend starts Rocking on the Main Stage, on Friday 4th October at the stunning Trinity Beach, at Ayia Triada, in Pernera, where you’ll experience the awesome Foo Forgers, a tribute to The Foo Fighters, who’ll be warming up the event. Then Metallica Reloaded doing their tribute to Metallica, and renowned to be a little outrageous of course!, need I say more? … Finishing the evening off will be the awesome main act Live Wire a tribute to the awesome AC/DC … now that’s some lineup to start the weekend off!! … and who knows where the after party will be? … Probably Koursaros Rock Club or Knight’s GastroPub, both nearby, in Pernera.
Saturday Night
It’s a ‘Night of Classics’ on Saturday 5th October … on the Main Stage again, with the sand between your toes on Trinity Beach … The Thin Lizzy Experience, needing no intro, are gonna warm us up! … and trust me they will !!! … Then it’s Rainbow in Rock, who’ll drive us crazy, until Boot Led Zeppelin, close the night with their unique blend of heavy and classic rock!!! … By now, you’ll know where the after parties are!
Sunday Sessions
Making it a long weekend 😉 … On Sunday 6th, warming us up for the third night on the Main Stage, at Trinity Beach will be the brilliant Scopyons a tribute to the Scorpions, a Cypriots’ favourite … Then the incredible Dan Halen keeping the night going, with all your favourites, leading us to the amazing headline act for the evening, one of my favourites Fleetwood Bac, I can’t wait to catch this band again!
Cyprus Rocks Pool Party
It’s Monday, so, today it’s chill time … not!!! … Only for VIP Wristband Holders … Opening at 2 pm, an afternoon of BBQ & live music, hosted at an awesome venue, I call ‘My little paradise in Pernera’, Blue Spice Restaurant and Pool Bar. Opening the afternoon, The Underdogs kick off the chill-out afternoon … Followed by the wonderful Symbiosis … Headlining the Blue Spice Pool Party will be as always, Jimi Andersons Legends of AOR, playing all the favourite rock classics from Foreigner, Journey and many more … it’s an all-star jam and btw, I think this one’s gonna be intimate!
The Late Session
This is another “VIP ONLY” event, specially for the travelling Rock fans that have booked to travel from abroad through www.cyprusrocks.co.uk and I’m sorry to say it’s always a full house, even I’m struggling to get on the guest list! … Knights GastroPub are the host’s for this one, it’s gonna be intimate and promises to be one of the highlights of the week. The evening is my favourite with musicians from all the bands having an evening of pure Jam Sessions ’til the early hours … Trust me this is just absolutely priceless!!! … Look out for my live videos, I’m sure they’ll squeeze me in somehow?
Cyprus Rocks Farewell Party
All good things come to an end, closing the week, Cyprus Rocks Festival goes back to Polyxenia Isaak Restaurant, where the party started, to be entertained by The Small Fakers, a tribute to one of my fav bands, Rod Stewart and the Small Faces … followed by the amazing voices and melodies of The Ultimate Beatles to close the ultimate Rock Festival, CYPRUS ROCKS 2024 for this year …
