Something New
You all know I love to find something a little different, especially when it falls into our ‘Things to Do’ category … Only opening in May this year, I did a little more research and gave them a call. We arranged a meeting with owner Lenny at the Putt Putt Mini Golf Course, so I could find out more …
Hospitality
Lenny is a south-east London boy, growing up down the Old Kent Road in the Elephant & Castle. He told me, “Over the years, I’ve owned 9 pubs and 7 restaurants, eventually specialising in event organising. Doing Tribute acts at 400-seat theatres”. We chatted about his time at Dickens World from 2001 to 2013.
Famous
I asked Lenny if he’d ever worked with anyone famous? Lenny smiled and said, “Several, including Beverly Knight, the Queen of Soul, at Western Hanger Castle, oh and Alexander O’Neill”. Now at age 60, Lenny’s come back to his roots and ancestors with a slightly more casual idea … so, I asked ‘why Mini Golf’? … he said “I did a lot of research, looking at ‘things to do’ … by chance this plot came onto the market, and I thought perfect!”
Location, Location
The course is just 100 metres off the Dhekalia Road. On arrival, I was more than pleasantly surprised. The course is nestled in the once-vibrant Octagono entertainment complex, just outside Oroklini village. Putt Putt Mini Golf has quickly become a local favourite for families, friends, and couples looking for a fun and relaxed outing. Lenny said, “It’s one of the few things 3 generations can do together” … Check out their Corporate Video and Upcoming Events
Around the World
It’s a compact 9 Hole course, thoughtfully laid out and well maintained, making this charming venue a blend of casual competition, challenging and requires an element of skill, but with laid‑back Cyprus vibes. The theme is landmarks and monuments around the world. Hole 1 is dedicated to the Pyramids, another is the Eifle Tower, the Leaning Tower of Pizza, Big Ben, and there’s a story behind every hole. With a little quiz at the end of your round, so you might need to go around twice.
Behind the Bar
Naturally, before you go around again, you can chill under the shade of the mature trees, enjoying a cool drink from the tenth hole, aka the bar and at pub prices, while listening to some cool melodic sounds, getting looked after by the awesome crew. They serve all your favourite tipples, a selection of local and international beers and wines from Italy and Cyprus. I loved their signature cocktail, ‘Hole in One’, brilliant! a cool blend of Vodka, Malibu, Blue Curaçao and pineapple juice … warning, their very moorish …
Kids & Nibbles
It’s a family experience, so the kids can choose fresh fruit smoothies, milkshakes, or light refreshments. There’s lots of nibbles, including Hot Dogs and Elio Pizzas, cooked in their special pizza oven … Look out for the new Team Competitions
Cool Ideas
They’ve got Fabulous Ideas for birthday parties, stag and hen parties, and corporate events, but with Lenny’s past experience in hosting events, he’ll also be throwing singles nights and date nights, and I can tell this is going to become one of my favourite things to do places! Btw, there’s also a big screen TV so you can watch all the live sports, including Premier League football, while the kids get their round in …
Special Offers
Lenny said, ‘If you mention What’s On Cyprus, you’ll get Unlimited golf, bar football, pool, TV, for only €15 per person, they’ll even pick you up, and take you home, and with a pint at only €4 … it’s gotta be your round!, in both senses of the word!
