It’s March, my favourite month! … mainly coz it’s spring, you know like a really good British summer 😉 … I just love this time of the year, all the flowers are out, all the orange trees are blossoming, the mixtures of aromas are just delectable, there’s fresh wild asparagus everywhere, it’s strawberry season, and the month kicks off with festival and carnival season …
ohh … and the days are getting longer and warmer … ho hum here comes summer !!!
Starting the Season Early ?
There’s an evident sign that many places are planning to open early this season to welcome both Christian and Orthodox holiday makers, as both faiths are celebrating Easter this year at the start of April, which should mean that we’ll be getting busy by the end of this Month …
If things go the way I think, we’ll stay busy and with the evident increase of British, Scandi, German and European market filling the vacant Cyprus Airways runway spots following their closure … and with commercial flights into Cyprus increasing yearly … I think the momemtum should just keep going and it’s gonna be one of the best seasons ever !
Renovations
It’s exciting, driving around, I’m seeing all the renovations well underway, places being knocked down and rebuilt, new fascias, new lights, new bars, a few top bars changing hands, maybe even one or two new clubs … things are looking good !

Top Names
It’s about now we’ll start hearing of top names being booked for this season and if rumours I’m getting are true, Ayia Napa will be heading back to re-claim its title of Club Capital of Europe this season … Napa’s Castle Club, Black ‘N’ White, Club Ice, leading the way, Club Aqua and River Reggae always there for the after parties and Carwash Disco still the best night out celabrating 20 years this season, and then there’s Club Deep in Larnaca, Guaba Beach Bar in Limassol, Zoo Club in Nicosia all smashing it these days so, get in your car and go check them out …
Ohh, I just have to give a big shout out to everyone taking part in the Cyprus Marathon on the Sunday 8th March, kicking off at 07:30 from Petra tou Romiou for full marathon runners … Half marathon runners and 10 km race are starting and ending at the Paphos Medievil Fort … More info; Tel 22 370 396 or 99 436 826 … Oh, and look out, there’s several after parties arranged around Cyprus for the runners, ha, but more the non runners … hic!

I love the Ayia Napa Street Art Festival which is still happening in Napa … Then there’s the Cyprus sunshine Cup on 8th March in Larnaka for Mountain Bike lovers … The Hip Hop Summit 2015 in Limassol on the same date … The 9th Limassol Marathon on 29th March … along the sea front …
Mind Body and Spirit Festival
One of my favourites has to be The Mind Body and Spirit Festival at St. Raphael Resort in Limassol on the 14th and 15th March which promises to be the best ever … more info http://mbscyprus.com
Winter Sports
It’s also the end of skiing season, with over a metre of snow hitting the Troodos Mountains as early as the end of November. It’s a totally different Cyprus up there, especially at this time of the year, as it really comes into its own … Equipment can be hired if you’re into spontaneity and some of the accommodation is a dream, total tranquility comes to mind ! … Check out the live ski cam here www.skicyprus.com/webcam … Of course in Cyprus, you can ski in the mountains in the morning and swim in the med in the afternoon 😉 … well, what else would you expect from a country that boasts the best climate in the world …
