Italian food lovers will be in heaven at the Mare e Monti Italian Restaurant in Kato
Paphos, and at least one visit is really a must and trust me, you’ll probably go back !
A sophisticated, vintage Italian environment, with Botticelli paintings everywhere, and
gorgeous scenery overlooking the Paphos coast with seating both inside and outside on the
wonderful canvas covered terrace, everything sparkling and immaculately presented for your dining experience, and gents it’s an absolutely stunning setting for a romantic meal under the stars 😉
I love the ambience here, with impeccable service from friendly and professional staff who speak Greek, English and Russian … so once you’ve been blown over by the setting, the venue and attention to detail on arrival, just wait ’til you try the cuisine!
They serve an extensive variety of beautifully presented, authentic, a la carte, Italian recipes, that I imagine will get everyone’s taste buds tingling …
Introducing a variety of antipasti including my fav, the mixed platter for two, an assortment of finger nibbles or the delicious Portobello Cheese filled Mushrooms served with a Commandaria sauce, or the Rice Balls with fresh Mozzarella in a delicious herb tomato sauce, the Seafood Salads are refreshing, and the Summer Salads now very popular, served with summer fruits …
Head Chef Ada is a local, ‘immensely talented’ is an understatement! Training in Italy, she gained extensive experience, right down to the roots of Italian cultures, discovering many traditional recipes. Her favourite, the Black Ink Tagliatelle with Prawns, which is to die for!!!
Naturally there’s a variety of freshly cooked, home made Pasta, including their popular Lasagne. My fav is the Seafood Pasta, a blend of Calamari, Octopus, Mussels, and Prawns with a lemon and olive oil dressing … Mmmm!
There’s a few original Pizzas to choose from, my fav The Sicilian, with Italian Salami,
sauteed in onion, tomato, peppers and fresh Mozzarella cheese or you can create your own, mine’s with extra cheese and black olives please 😉
If you prefer a meat dish, then try the succulent Filetto di Manzo al Gorgonzola, a grilled
fillet of prime New Zealand beef, prepared with a creamy Gorgonzola cheese sauce, absolutely mind blowing!
You must leave some room for their speciality desserts … The tasty Tiramisu e Mare Monti
served with an Espresso is an amazing choice to compliment your meal, but the Tortina al
Cioccolato Caldo, a hot chocolate tart served with vanilla ice cream and Galliano sauce,
just a taste bud explosion … or everyone’s fav, the Panacotta served with three sauces Mmmm! so, moorish!
They also have an extensive Wine List with 40 specially selected Cypriot, Greek and Italian
Wines that you’ll notice are beautifully presented around the restaurant.
It’s an amazing venue to celebrate those special occasions including Weddings where they
provide a perfect setting, dress it to your liking, compliment the occasion with excellent
cuisine and for those with a sweet tooth, a beautifully arranged Candy Bar … oh, ask them
about their Special Party Menus …
They welcome bookings and spontaneous walk-ins, with much appreciated concessions for returning customers … like I said, you’re bound to go back 😉
