I asked Marios @ Andria Steak & Seafood Restaurant, in Coral Bay, Paphos what's their secret behind their success?  He said "it's down to the quality of our ingredients, everything is fresh daily and cooked to order, and to us, presentation is an art" ... I have to say it's impeccable!  Marios continued; "to cook a good steak you first have to buy a good steak, and that's exactly what we do, importing the finest Black Angus Beef and the freshest seafood caught daily by local fishermen" ... Coming outta Shepherds Bush in London, Chris with over 30 years experience and catering in his blood, followed his father's footsteps and in 2012 he finally sealed the deal to buy the old Banana Cabaret Bar in Kissonerga, better known for its sauciness than its sauces 😉  He named it 'Sonny's, after his son, so I suppose it was inevitable Sonny would join his dad sooner or later, together they make an unbeatable team! ... And tbh, you'll probably need to book to make sure you find a table!

Fat Mama’s is one of those special places that’s so good you’ll just keep going back, so naturally after 25 years it gets really busy every night with bookings not accepted after 7 pm, but don’t worry, if you have to wait to be seated you can enjoy a drink from a well-stocked bar.  Mixing one of my favourite Mojitos or try one of their intoxicating cocktails, and at 2 for the price of 1 during happy hours!

It's been over 26 years since my very good friend Leo opened New Horizon Pub.  These days Leo's son Stephanos is at the helm, supported by his two righthand men Yiotis and Steve, that have been with him 25 years, and this place just seems to be getting better and better!  It's an old English style bar, with lots of polished wood, high stools along the bar, out front a gorgeous beer garden on the partly covered terrace, and loads of things on the walls and it's a family pub so children are more than welcome! ...

It's amazing how many people still didn't know this place exists ... it's situated in the village of Avgorou, and includes beautifully landscaped herb gardens, the woodland area created in the shape of Cyprus, scattered with the endemic trees and shrubs of Cyprus, a Lavender Labyrinth, and it boasts the first and only hedge maze on the island, all 2000 sq.m. of it ...

This is as traditional an English pub as you'll find in Cyprus ... It's on a corner for starters !!!

I love a new find ... this wonderful Bistro is set in the cobbled alleys at the top end of Old Town Paphos.  It's the dream of Soula and Aristos come true.  Soula has a love of cooking, especially 'sweet things' and now you can go and enjoy a little naughtiness in a quaint French Bistro style ambience, where everything just seems to slow down and stop, and all you have to think about is which coffee to choose !

It's a family-run business, and a more international eatery would be hard to find, with Mediterranean, Greek, Italian and Indian cuisines to add to the traditional Cypriot choices on the menu, Antonis calls it "Multi-Cultural-Fusion" ... I suppose, that says it all!

Home from Home There's three, Tea for Two's in Paphos, sort of gives you an idea which way these eateries are going. Without doubt a fantastic choice for breakfast, served all day, and arguably the best in town, or lunch, just cool and breezy in the summer or warm and toasty in the winter months, and a home from home dinner menu, fantastic!, or maybe just indulge in coffees' cocktails, drinks and desserts, they're all home made, delicious and huge portions! ... oh and just a little bit naughty !!!

Their Coconuts are full of raw unpasturised fresh coconut juice, and tasty young coconut flesh, packed with electrolytes, containing as much potassium as two bananas and with zero cholesterol, almost no calories, and extremely low in fat, a perfect part of any healthy diet, that will help you build your immune system.
