Friends in Need
I received a call recently from a good friend Andrew Robinson about a charity called Friendship Circle, based in Larnaca, telling me about a new service added to the many that this awesome charity handle regularly in Cyprus … They are now able to offer a professional disinfection service, using products that are authorised by the appropriate Israeli authorities. And they’ll be offering this free of charge with maybe a suggested donation for various businesses and charities … btw they are in full adherence of the government health and hygiene regulations and protocols …
Thorough
This amazing duet arrived early, togged up to the nine’s in protective gear and scared the living daylights out of my neighbours, I had to go and explain … They came inside, separated and started, one spraying sanitiser onto the floors the other with steam cleaner in hand, covering all the surfaces, sofas, and door handles and everything else … I must say they seemed very thorough …
Special Needs
Friendship Circle was formed in 2008 providing assistance and support to children and adults with special needs, as well as their families. Their programs and activities have made a huge impact on the lives of people who society rarely thinks about. They also make hospital care visits, especially at children’s wards throughout Cyprus with volunteers dressed in costumes like Spider-man and Peppa Pig, giving them toys and various gifts.
Vulnerable
As part of the special situation following the Corona Virus, the Cyprus Friendship Circle extends the scope of activities, turning to immediate assistance of people who may be stranded and vulnerable due to this situation and they are also sending out hot meals, with a team of volunteers.
Food Boxes
Leah explained “At the moment we already have over 1000 people who need a hot meal every day. We have home kitchens and restaurant kitchens all working with volunteers to prepare and cook these meals 6 days a week, and we are also giving out food boxes of supplies.
Exemplary
This is without a doubt an exemplary charity and they need all the support they can get, so if you are in a position to help them financially, or you can offer a little time I’m sure they will be very happy to hear from you …
