After over 30 years it’s still one of the oldest, most classic and much loved pubs in Larnaca … inside the décor, all wood, prints and rock memorabilia everywhere, outside a delightful spacious traditional courtyard, recently expanded and covered in parts, which gets really busy. It’s traditional, Cypriot, Rock hospitality, all the way! With music ranging from Classic Rock to Jazz, Indie to Rhythm & Blues and even very occasionally, a little Reggae …
Rocking forever!
I’ve known Mariann and Christos aka Moullos, since they opened Savino Rock Bar and a nicer couple you’ll never meet, creating this totally unique bar and running it absolutely impeccably, oh, and lets not forget my very good friend, the gorgeous Drew, who helps sort everything else out … tbh, a nicer place, you’ll never find! … At Savino, it’s a really easy-going atmosphere, with regular customers that have been going back for years and years, ranging from ages 21 to over 71, well, you know what they say? … Rock Music lives in us forever!
Unique
Savino is ‘unique’, in every sense of the word, because every other day of the week their customers can choose from a massive selection of tracks on the playlist from the computer behind the bar, it’s like a new technology jukebox … Brilliant !!! and i hope its not too long before the acoustic sessions restart for nights like this when my good friend Joe from Paphos did a cover of Prince’s Purple Rain … just awesome!
Fully Stocked Bar
You name it, they’ll probably have it … starting with a choice of over 60 Malt Whiskeys, 20 Draught Beers, a big selection of Craft Beers including the wonderful local Octopus Beer from Sotira or one of over 130 top name bottled beers from all over the world, oh, and Ciders, 50 Rums, some from the Caribbean and some from paradise oh, more than a few Vodka’s and over 50 Gins and on that note, following the latest trends, you really must check out their new Gin Menu !!!
Snacks
Savino doesn’t have a kitchen, but their favourite burger is from the nearby ‘Burger Bun’ so anyone can order munchies there or in fact from several menus of fine Chinese, International and Pizza restaurants in the immediate area that do deliveries, which saves going somewhere else for dinner.
Live Gigs and Events
There’s a huge events club just across the alley, aka Savino Live, where every Friday and Saturday night you’ll catch live international, local, Greek and English rock bands and the occasional Stand-up Comedy night aimed at the local market. A Must Visit
This really is an awesome venue and a must visit if you’re in Larnaca or fancy a change from your local, coz Larnaca is the hub of Cyprus, as it’s only around half an hour’s drive from, Ayia Napa, Limassol, and Nicosia, making it a favourite of many a rock fan from all over Cyprus …
