I was invited by Antonis and Demitries to try their 'All You Can Eat Sushi & More Buffet at The Fish House Restaurant in Ayia Napa.  I have to say it was the 'More' bit that got my curiousity going, so I had to ask, "Antonis said, "Our chefs conjure up a selection of salads, the prawn salad was delicious, and Asian dishes, like samosas, spring rolls, fried rice, noodles, crispy chicken, crispy duck and pancakes ... How could I resist?

I couldn't resist, so I started with, 'So John, tell me about the old days'... As he replied, his voice became a bit more emotional. "I was born in 1959 in the general hospital, which is now a college, I'll show you on our trip.  My family were producers of Strawberries in the neighbouring red soil village of Dherynia.  I grew up in the old city of Famagusta, or Varrossia as it was known.  I went to school there, I'll show you that too.  I knew every road and every corner, every shop and every hotel".

What makes Begafigo so special is its ideal location.  Ayia Triada, aka Trinity Beach, offers fine golden white sand, clear shallow waters, often as calm as a millpond, next to a scenic fishing harbour and the iconic, tiny, blue‑and‑white church, and as luck would have it, the launch of Tulum Beach Bar right next door was a blessing in disguise!

I love it when I find 'something out of the ordinary', slightly off the beaten track, owned by a guy who just wants to do what he loves with a passion.  Savvinos is dedicated about absolutely anything to do with Skatsa and 'Skateboarding'in Larnaca.  I've known him from the old indoor skate park days. I had a good look around the shop, it's well laid out, shelving and racks of plumbing accessories, with samples clipped to the racks, divided by displays of tools, and an abundance of brass all over the place.  They stock pretty much everything you'll need to sort out your plumbing needs, heating, cooling, pumps, tools for plumbing and air conditioning, copper pipes and fittings, taps, mixer taps, and showers.  I just have to say, 'whenever I go here, I just take a photo of what I want to fix or do, and they give me exactly what I need to do it!'

As I walked in for the first time, I was well impressed with the simple blackboards adorning the walls up the stairs leading to the bar on the first floor.  Inside, it's all dark wood and industrial style metal ... cool signs everywhere, I couldn't resist getting a couple of shots, how do you like your whiskey?  The bar is open on three sides, so lovely cool breezes with really cool views over the heart of Napa, Marios laughed as he said, "it's packed in here for the festive parades"!
