Bacchus Restaurant and Cafe, Kato Paphos
It's a family-run business, and a more international eatery would be hard to find, with Mediterranean, Greek, Italian and Indian cuisines to add to the traditional Cypriot choices on the menu, Antonis calls it "Multi-Cultural-Fusion" ... I suppose, that says it all!
Sonny’s Restaurant, Paphos
Coming outta Shepherds Bush in London, Chris with over 30 years experience and catering in his blood, followed his father's footsteps and in 2012 he finally sealed the deal to buy the old Banana Cabaret Bar in Kissonerga, better known for its sauciness than its sauces ;) He named it 'Sonny's, after his son, so I suppose it was inevitable Sonny would join his dad sooner or later, together they make an unbeatable team! ... And tbh, you'll probably need to book to make sure you find a table!
Gold Temple, Asian, Thai & Sushi Restaurant, Coral Bay, Paphos
I caught up with Nikos who also owns Blazing Saddles Pub next door, who told me "I opened the Indian Restaurant in 2013 because there wasn't an authentic one in the area. Then one year later my customers persuaded me that there wasn't a decent Chinese either", and chop-chop it happened! ... And then, quite recently Nikos again listened to his customers' wishes, and added Thai & Sushi, so as you're in Cyprus, now you might as well 'Meze' it up, Asian style!
Bacchus Restaurant and Cafe, Kato Paphos
It's a family-run business, and a more international eatery would be hard to find, with Mediterranean, Greek, Italian and Indian cuisines to add to the traditional Cypriot choices on the menu, Andonis calls it "Multi-Cultural-Fusion" ... I suppose, that says it all!
Camel Park, Mazotos, Larnaca
It's a lovely idea for a truly different day out. What I really like about The Camel Park is it’s diversity, as there’s always something new to see every time you go. With such a lot of animals, there’s often a few babies around including iccle Camels, ranging from as little as 2 weeks old … they are just delightful! You can choose to stroll around at your leisure or there’s guides who offer information in several languages.
Andria Steak & Seafood Restaurant, Coral Bay, Paphos
I asked Marios @ Andria Steak & Seafood Restaurant, in Coral Bay, Paphos what's their secret behind their success? He said "it's down to the quality of our ingredients, everything is fresh daily and cooked to order, and to us, presentation is an art" ... I have to say it's impeccable! Marios continued; "to cook a good steak you first have to buy a good steak, and that's exactly what we do, importing the finest Black Angus Beef and the freshest seafood caught daily by local fishermen" ... Cyherbia Botanical Park & Labyrinth, Avgorou
It's amazing how many people still didn't know this place exists ... it's situated in the village of Avgorou, and includes beautifully landscaped herb gardens, the woodland area created in the shape of Cyprus, scattered with the endemic trees and shrubs of Cyprus, a Lavender Labyrinth, and it boasts the first and only hedge maze on the island, all 2000 sq.m. of it ...
Karlina Restaurant Cafe Bar, Paphos
Times have changed as far as the fascia goes, but for the past 28 years, the service is still exemplary and the cuisine is as traditional as it gets. It's a family-run restaurant, from Luigi's warm welcome to the homemade Cypriot specialties using mum's secret recipes and the lovely touch of complimentary seasonal fruit, grown in dad's orchard, that they'll bring to your table for afters.
Yiannis’ Romanian Cuisine, Paphos
I really enjoy my job, even more so when I find something a little different and was thrilled when Valentina and Yiannis invited me to meet them at their Traditional Romanian Restaurant in Paphos … They asked me if I'd like to try one of Yiannis' Soups for lunch, and I said "just a little please" and they served me Meat Ball Soup with some warm pitta and green chili peppers on the side … I just have to say; "I wish I hadn't said 'just a little' … it really was delicious!"
The Railway Inn, Chloraka
This is as traditional an English pub as you'll find in Cyprus ... It's on a corner for starters !!!
