I couldn't resist, so I started with, 'So John, tell me about the old days'... As he replied, his voice became a bit more emotional. "I was born in 1959 in the general hospital, which is now a college, I'll show you on our trip.  My family were producers of Strawberries in the neighbouring red soil village of Dherynia.  I grew up in the old city of Famagusta, or Varrossia as it was known.  I went to school there, I'll show you that too.  I knew every road and every corner, every shop and every hotel".

I recently caught up with Savvas, who, in my book, is one of the old school, around since before Napa became the clubbing capital of Europe.  He told me, "I got on my first motorbike when I was 12, and opened this bike rentals in 1992.  Over a lovely coffee, Savvas said, "We were renting out mostly those little 50cc bikes.  When Cyprus joined Europe in 2004, Quad Bikes and Buggies started flooding the rental market, so I launched, what became an excellent Quad Buggy Safari in 2012 ... So I asked Christos, How did it all start?;  He said "Cars have always been in my blood I used to finish school and go home and fix cars ... Like many boys, I wanted to be a Rally Driver, behind the wheel.  By the age 16 I'd built my first rally car and started entering races.  I asked what was your first car?, amazingly he said, "It was a low-weight 800kg, Ford Escort Mk 1", omg! just one of my favourite cars ever!
