We Wave Danced all the way up to Lara Bay

Cruising to The Blue Lagoon
I really wanted to try their night time Firework Cruise, but I was invited by the wonderful Lesley and well cool Captain Yiannis to join them on Wave Dancer for their full day trip up the Akamas to the home of the turtles at Lara Bay, and because it’s still only May we can set the cool drawbridge style platform onto the beach and have a stroll and a swim, I couldn’t wait …

Warm Welcome
Met by Lesley on the boat I grabbed the nearest bed in a little ‘V’ towards the front so I could get a good view for my day photo shoot and off to the bar to get a complimentary light breakfast and hot tea or coffee … might as well have two 😉

Dancing on the waves
As we pulled out of the harbour the guests settle down on the huge top deck, four runs of sunbeds all taken, another sold out cruise, and the captain guided us out of the harbour past the little castle heading up North West past the eerie ship wreck, then skirting the Island of St George, how close???, all accompanied by live music, to get us in the mood, well cool !  Meanwhile our host and compere Joseph pops around doing magic tricks at your tables … quite brilliant !!!

Crystal Clear
We stopped off for our first swim stop at Blue Lagoon which is as beautiful as it sounds, it’s the biggest bay on the Akamas Peninsular, famous for its crystal clear calm waters, it’s also very sheltered so the waters reach up to 30°C in the summer.

Lara Bay
Then we continued along the rough and rugged coastline up the Akamas and actually moored up at the magnificent Lara Bay, home of the wonderful Green Turtles, one of the last times before we have to leave them in peace whilst they hatch until sometime in September … here you can also swim and do a little snorkelling.

Lunch
During this swim stop lunch is served, buffet style, delicious BBQ chicken, sausage, home made burgers, i went back for more ;), potatoes, salads, veg, dips another drink and coffee after and delicious honeydew and watermelon for desserts and cake omg !!! I love the casual affair over lunch, people eating at the bar, on the tables and on their sunbeds !

Awesome Show
Then the entertainment gets better, an absolutely awesome trio of acrobats and a juggler, their strength and balance just flawless and I love the way they got four of the audience to show they can do it to, and to finish, when in Cyprus, dance like the locals !

Highly Recommended
I just gotta say this show was the highlight of an absolutely wonderful full-day cruise that I cannot highly recommend enough … it is, without a doubt, the best boat trip up on the west coast and excellent value for money, especially with the free open bar! Ho Hum … another wonderful day on the med, I love my job !!!

A delightful cruise along the North West Coast of Cyprus!
