Dream come true
I love a new find ! This wonderful Bistro is set in the cobbled alleys at the top end of Old Town Paphos. It’s the dream of Soula and Aristos come true. Soula has a love of cooking, especially ‘sweet things’ and now you can go and enjoy a little naughtiness in a quaint French Bistro style ambience, where everything just seems to slow down and stop, and all you have to think about is which coffee to choose !
Ibrahim’s Khan
The cafe is petite, with cosy indoor seating downstairs and a lovely little more private room upstairs, outside, on the terrace, shaded, comfy chairs, adding to the ornate display of embroidered dream catchers made by team at ‘Peace 2 Peace’, that adorn the side of the building marking the entrance to Ibrahim’s Khan, a sort of market workshop for handcrafts and traditional products.
Fresh Coffee
The coffee fresh and roasted by Essse from Italy, served just as you like it, hot or cold to drink in or take away, my fav hot, the Espresso Macchiato or the Iced Americano or Freddo Cappuccino cold. They also serve gorgeous milkshakes blended thick with Ice Cream and fresh Fruit Juices and Smoothies made with seasonal fruits, my fav the Banana, Strawberry and Apple blended with fresh OJ … Mmm!
Bistro Style
The food is amazing, Soula creates with a passion … recipes passed down from mum or found on the internet and recreated with a few extra touches to suit, for example the Beatriz Special Salad, a mix of fresh rocket, spinach, lettuce, pomegranate, dried or fresh figs and walnuts drizzled with balsamic and honey just amazing!
Cakes
Soula loves making sweet things so here you’ll be in your element … Soula chooses and hand makes at least 4 or 5 cakes every day, something different, oh and for starters her Carrot Cake is to die for ! Cypriot pastries galore, savoury Muffins just fluffy and tasty. The Toasted Sandwiches full of homely flavours, my fav the Smoked Salmon with Cream Cheese or why not enjoy a Beatriz Platter, for 2 to 4 people, cheese, meat or mixed, with a few extra fruit and veg nibbles and last but not least the Orange Pie just a mind blowing citrus explosion !!! omg I almost forgot the Apple and the Cheese Cake Mmm !!!
Ice Stories
The latest trend is Ice Stories Originale, my fav the Red Velvet Oreo, blended and served in big Jars and now Cup Stories, they look like fun in a cup ! and coming soon home-made Iced Tea, fresh fruit salads and home made Summer soft drinks.
Behind the Bar
Only imported Spirits and a few bottled beers. A selection of regional and Cypriot Wines, plus a few imported from France and the tantalising Prosecco from Italy, chilled to perfection of course.
Cocktails
Just a few of the classics, blended with imported spirits, my fav the classic Mojito or jazz it up with a flavour of your choice …
Yummy Ice creams
Directly opposite, their Ice Cream Shop, full of Häagen-Dazs Ice Cream with 10 delicious flavours to choose from, my faves the Strawberry Cheesecake, Mango Sorbet, the Belgian Chocolate, Cookies & Cream and Salted Caramel mmm, and they plan to complement them with home-made Waffles coming soon.
It’s the little things
Like when you find Honey sachets with the white or brown sugar you know a little thought has gone in to make this place very special, and a visit is a must if you’re shopping in old town … oh, and everyone’s welcome !
Events
They recently held a Latin Night which was an amazing success, up to 500 people turned up and danced the night away Latin style in the narrow streets … DJ Michael on the decks and Steve Church showing you the steps while celebrating his birthday … I’m not going to miss the next one ! btw I’m trying to persuade them to do it on the first Friday iof every month, what do you think ?
