Ayia Thekla Beach Bar & Restaurant
This place has a history going back over 30 years, built by the late and very great Lucas many years ago, these days sons Simon and Yiannis are at the helm. They’ve spruced the place up a bit, and they’ve added a little more to the menu and the entertainment programme and its become a locals fav, with many visitors saving the trip into town.  It’s the centre stage on market day every Wednesday morning, but throughout the week it’s full of surprises with regular entertainment.

On the Beach
The setting is as good as on the beach, it’s a traditional village house with alcoves and arches edging the shaded patio out front, overlooking the beautiful Mediterranean sea.  The ambience is relaxed outside and continues inside, with comfy lounge style sofas and 4 huge TV screens to watch all the live sports, there’s a pool room with plenty of seating and two lovely open fires to keep your toes warm in the winter.

Menu
In the kitchen Helena, Loucas’ wife is the Master Chef when it comes to traditional Cypriot cuisine … so you’ll find everything from Full English or Cypriot style breakfast to freshly home made Moussaka or Macaroni Pastiche which is the arguably best in the area !! There’s grills and omelettes and a selection for the kids.  They also add seasonal, traditional family recipes, so the menu changes throughout the year !

Fish
It’s a local fishermen’s favourite, so Helena gets the best of the fresh locally caught fish, my fav has to be the fresh Tsippoura, grilled with a splash of lemon … Mmm !

Sunday Lunch
Keeping it traditional, their speciality is Kleftico on a Sunday.  Savour the delicious lamb cooked slowly in sealed clay ovens for over 5 hours.  The meat just falls off the bone and the Cyprus potatoes are to die for, and the vegetables absolutely divine !

Private Parties
Wedding parties, Birthday parties and special events are always welcome, boasting a lovely outside Lounge Bar and DJ Box to help the party stay alfresco and they’ll arrange catering, buffets or set meals to help make your day really special !

Market Day
Every Wednesday, Ayia Thekla Market attaches itself to the restaurant, about 50 stalls present a selection typical to any open air market, but this one’s right on the coast.  Grab your full English Breakfast or brunch or lunch or just a coffee and cake and go to market, maybe do a little bartering to add to the fun.

New Roof Garden
As if the views aren’t lovely enough here, they’ve just started plans to build a roof garden … I can’t wait !
