It’s famous for its full English breakfast with Heart London Radio to keep you in touch back home while you savour of the aroma of good old British bacon … but, these days they also do a great brunch, lunch, snacks, just coffee and cake and a cool dinner menu!Ā So over the years they’ve built up quite an international crowd, as well as the locals who discovered Gary’s was originally opened by Koulis’ š
Full English
It’s had a revamp, but it’s still a traditional British Style cafe come pub, the dĆ©cor a blend of old and new, quite unique, and there’s always such a cool, chilled out ambience here.Ā Starting the day, whatever time you get up with what made Gary’s famous; the best value for money English Breakfast in town, 2 eggs, 2 slices of bacon, a sausage, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms and baked beans.Ā You can top it up to a Big Breakfast if you’re hungry or just add a couple of extras, a slice of bacon, hash browns, black pudding or chips, or choose anything of the above and ask for it on toast … or maybe a lovely baguette, fluffy omelette and crispy toasties!
The Healthy Options
These days I’m into eating healthy, one of my faves is Gary’s Breakfast, a plate of natural yogurt, honey and walnuts surrounded by fresh seasonal fruits.Ā The locals are loving the Cypriot Plate, 2 hard boiled eggs, 2 halloumi, 2 slices of ham, cucumber and black olives.Ā Louise’s fav is the Smoked Salmon Breakfast, smoked salmon served with scrambled eggs and cucumber slices, or the Avocado Breakfast, smashed avocado, grilled halloumi, grilled tomatoes on thick, hand cut granary toast … just delicious!
Grills & Salads
You’ll also find gorgeous Mixed Grills, the ever popular Indian style Chicken Curry, ice cool fresh cut crispy salads, my fav the Smoked Salmon & Avocado, or quite Unique, Gary’s Salad, Quinoa, iceberg, red lettuce, cherry tomatoes, pomegranate, rocket, carrot and grated parmesan, a taste bud mix-up … The kids even have their own tasty choices too, especially their favourite Fish Fingers & Chips!
Greek Style
Head Chef ‘Fonna’ has been with them 18 years and recently more and more locals are coming these days, so they’ve added some Cypriot favourites; Dolmades, that’s Stuffed Vine leaves in English, shallow fried White Bait, Lamb Chops, Moussaka, Veggie Moussaka and Cyprus style Lentils, with rice, celery, onion, carrot and tomato, served with two bread rolls, oh, and a Jumbo Grilled Pork Chop, all 600/700 gsm of it … but my very absolute favourite has to be the deep fried Baby Calamari, served with chips and salad, omg!
Other stuff
There’s delicious American style Pizza, with whatever you want on top, Pukka Pies, Jacket Spuds, Chicken Wings, Scampi, Hand Battered Cod & Chips and the famous Gary’s Home made Burgers and if you think sharing is caring try one of their Platters … oh, and there’sĀ Vegetarian options like the Goat Cheese Salad and a couple of options for their Vegan guests, with more on the way, shhh that’s supposed to be a secret š
Coffee & Cake
I often pop in for a coffee and naughty š with some delicious desserts including everybody’s fav’s the tantalizing home made Chocolate Brownies with ice-cream and chocolate sauce or a nice slice of Apple Pie and Ice cream or custard … and with Sky TV showing the News and all the footie and live sports on 6 huge screens … it’s Paradise !
Drinks
Don’t forget this place is a bar, so expect to find all your favourite drinks on the optics and draught Keo, Peroni and Thatcher’s and Alco Pops and they’ll even mix you a classic Cocktail or two.Ā
Like Family
I’ve known this crew since they opened, in fact I designed their Logo and T-Shirts and trust me its the best breakfast in town with a fabulous atmosphere, you’ll see what I mean if you go, and just about everyone that comes to Napa goes there, including loads of Napa’s workers, most of whom are just on their way home after a good night out, and don’t worry if you over sleep, they serve breakfast all day … oh, and everything on the menu is available for Take Away!
