Lovable Host
Situated on Nissi Avenue, on the outskirts of Napa near Waterworld Waterpark, is this awesome traditional English Pub, serving an absolutely delicious fusion of British Style food and Mediterranean cuisine. It’s run by a great team, with a lovable host and an excellent entertainment program, with a kids’ play area, and free WiFi … What else do you need? … Funny blackboards? … they’ve got those too !!!
Crossed Paths
George and I go back to my early days in Napa, my first holiday in ’87, when he ran the world-famous Cowboy Bar, which he opened at age 21. He then attended Hotel Catering School in ’89, gaining extensive experience when he became Cook ‘A’ for The Olympic Lagoon Hotel in 1992, around the time we provided their TV information channel. He also ran the bar at the Senator Hotel in ’96, distributing our mag for us and I wrote our first article about them for What’s On in 2016, and let me just say, ‘you’re in for a treat’!
Like Father
These days, son Alex is full-time, having grown up in the bar, helping out from age 5, when he was small enough to sleep on the benches. Following his studies in Business Accountancy, Economics and Law, he now heads up the marketing for the bar and designs the menus and runs all the Social media and stuff, much as he’s full hands o these days …
Crew
Out front, there’s an awesome crew, where you’ll find the ever reliable, Head Waiter ‘Levi’ from Hungary, who speaks Russian, Romania, English and Hungarian of course, and has now been with them for over 14 years and of course an integral member of the team.
Delicious Food
Since they opened, this pub, come restaurant, has really gained an excellent reputation, firstly for their delicious food, passionately cooked by George, and equally for their traditional Cypriot Hospitality, Entertainment and welcoming atmosphere. On the menu, you’ll get British all-the-way food .. things like homemade Steak and Ale pies, Homemade Argentinian Angus Beef Burgers, and Jack Daniels Chicken Burgers. My favourite has to be the Village Burger, two layers of burgers with Halloumi in the middle, Mmm!
Secret Recipe
I asked George to tell me more … He said; “we even make our own JD Sauce its a little bitter/sweet, with carob syrup, and caramelised onions, not blended, grated on a grater to create the base”, and the rest, he swore me to secrecy, but trust me, you’ll never taste anything quite like it!
All Day
Another thing I love about this place is you can get an all-day proper English Breakfast, so it doesn’t matter what time you get up, just head here. It’s really hard to resist their Cheesy Stakes but the Meatloaf, also made with Angus Beef, onion, shredded carrot, chilli, oregano and seasoning is one of my favourites here. So too the Pulled Pork, Halloumi Sticks deep-fried with Pineapple Chutney are a tastebud explosion.
Starters to share
I love the starters to share, like the Rack of Ribs with BBQ sauce or Chicken wings, onion rings, garlic bread, mushrooms, wedges and dips … or the homemade Pizzas, just delicious !!! oh, and btw the kids even have a separate menu, with Mini Fillet Steaks, Mini Fillet of Pork or Chicken and of course Eggs, Beans and Chips, and a really cool vegetarian selection.

George was telling me, “Our most popular selections are our Platters, we do a delicious Seafood Platter, Meat Platter, Cheese Platter or a mix of any of them all and a refreshing Fruit Platter” … our platters are seasonal so they may differ occasionally” … I think that’s really cool !!! … Oh, let’s not forget their Homemade Pies
Traditional
Now, the authentic Beef Stifado is one of the best I’ve ever tasted, especially if it was yesterday’s, so don’t be shy to ask them.
Sunday all Day
This place really serves a Sunday Roast to die for … choose from a choice of four meats, Beef, Pork, Chicken and Gammon, all your fav veg, homemade Yorkies, topped with a choice of gravy and finished off with a slice of homemade Apple Pie and Custard or Ice cream … those of you who have tried their desserts know what I mean!!!
Happy Holiday Entertainment
Every night is a great night out with a full entertainment programme including Live Tribute acts, Bingo, Cribbage and Chess Boards … Every Saturday is Karaoke Disco and if you’re a big group you can request Karaoke on another night too …
Sports
It’s a great meeting point to watch all the live sports on 6 big screens, and a projector and there’s a fun play area for the kids to keep them entertained, and this lot are Pool Champions in this area at the moment so if you fancy cracking a few frames you might get a good game here.
Events
They also have a cool DJ Box and disco lights so it’s a great place to hold your birthday party, Leaving Party, or special event and they’ll dress the place up for your pre-wedding or after-wedding parties or big 18 to 80 parties, with happy birthday banners, and balloons and they’ll even help sort out the transport and throw in a nice bottle of bubbles for the bride or host … and finally, it’s a great choice for a night out away from the maddening crowd in the centre of Napa …
Game Nights
As George was just chatting he said “We are thinking about starting Party Game Nights” … I thought that sounds like loads of fun! … And you can put say €100 behind the bar for the night and they’ll top it up with shots and stuff, double it to €200 and they’ll add a few surprises.
