Early Days
I recently caught up with Savvas, who, in my book, is one of the old school, around since before Napa became the clubbing capital of Europe. He told me, “I got on my first motorbike when I was 12, and opened this bike rentals in 1992. Over a lovely coffee, Savvas said, “We were renting out mostly those little 50cc bikes. When Cyprus joined Europe in 2004, Quad Bikes and Buggies started flooding the rental market, so I launched, what became an excellent Quad Buggy Safari in 2012 …
Quad & Buggie Hire
Established for over 3 decades, Savvas now has an extensive selection of over 150 of the latest models of Quad Bikes and Buggies, from 50 cc to 570 cc, so you’re bound to find one that’ll suit you and the family … A few favourites are the new Linhai T-Box 650, the really cool AEON Cobra 400cc, or the more popular Polaris RZR 1000 cc Quad, seating 2. Unusually, 3 Seaters with 3 Seatbelts, or even up to 4 people … or the fun CF 800cc 2 Seater Buggie … or the nippy 2 seater Sniper FX-400cc .. Hmm which one?
Motorbikes and Scooters
There’s also a cool choice from the 50cc Sym Scooter … Step it up to the 125 cc Kimco Scooter … or for the true bike enthusiast, try the Voge Adventure 300cc or 525 cc … There’s a full gallery of their bikes on their website below …
Professional
With a minimum of one day hire, his prices drop the more days you rent for … Naturally, safety comes first so you’ll need a full car licence, and proof of Identity … Savvas of course provides, full insurance, unlimited mileage, helmets, and maps, and he’ll happily teach you how to drive a buggy and offer a little advice on where to go and what to see … Check out our Video around the shop … then …
Extreme Route
Savvas knows all the good routes, so he’ll then recommend a couple of routes for your day, the first a little more extreme, heading out of Napa to the stunning scenery of Cape Greco, taking in the sea caves, for a bit of rock jumping, and a small waterfall with panoramic views, then on through the beautiful coast town of Protaras and back to Napa the long way around.
Cultural Route
The other option is a more cultural route, visiting nearby villages, and an awesome church built into the rocks, offering a stunning view of Famagusta. You can easily do either of his recommended trips in around 3 to 4 hours, and they’re more on-road rather than off-road, and you’ll find places to grab a drink or snacks along the route. It’s a great way to see the area and it’s loads of fun, and the bigger the group, the more the fun, oh, and whatever you do, don’t forget your camera!
