What's On Cyprus

Cape Bar is a family bar with a friendly family atmosphere ...it's situated near Cyclops Caves, on the edge of the National Park at Konnos Bay, Cape Greco.  It's one of my favourite areas in Cyprus, this is a great place to watch the beautiful sunset.

I was delighted to be invited to find out more about this exceptional, luxury chocolate manufacturing company.  Established in 1990 by Constantinos' father Stavros.  Their story is almost as lovely as their chocolate tastes ... omg!  Constantinos made me very welcome as we talked about how it all started ...

To Steki tou Boss, in the heart of Paralimni is an authentic Cypriot Taverna, offering that 'Home from Home' feeling! Inside the décor, in one part designer influenced bespoke wooden tables and chairs made really comfy, patchwork high stools up at the bar, blended with cafe-style seating, lots of wood, village artefacts everywhere, plants and really cool lighting. The menu is a tick list of what's in the kitchen so you create your own meze, 3 of those, 2 of these, none of them etc ... just brilliant .... Highly recommended ... Captain Andreas takes you along the coast for a 2 Hour 45 minute mini cruise, first up to see the Ghost City of Famagusta, where you'll learn about the history of what happened and why it's still empty after over 52 years, then off to Blue Lagoon and the fabulous Konnos Bay for swim stops ... Skipping in and out of tiny bays along the way, if you're lucky you'll swim with the turtles

... it's almost inevitable that this place goes from home dining to partying like only the Cypriots know how!

A personal service with a smile !

... so, if the kids are complaining they're bored, get ready to satisfy their thirst for fun!

It's all sort of lean-to-Tikki-style shack on the beach, all wood and lots of bamboo ... out front the aroma of freshly watered lush green grass lawns, a beach volleyball court, and outdoor seaview massage booths.  A gorgeous spacious veranda, covered with bamboo, creates delightful shaded patterns to enjoy your stay, with stunning sea views over Pernera Bay.  I love stuff like; Speis' handmade crisps shelf and the colourful signage on the wooden rails that run down the side of the cafe ... It's a really cool beachside cafe ...

So I asked Lefteris to tell me more; "I decided to grab the chance to reopen Bliss Bar in Protaras because I thought it would be a good idea to combine the bar with my entertainment agency and so far it's working like a dream ...

I asked why their beers are so good;  Taras explained, "The biggest difference of Craft Beer is it has more flavour and taste, mainly because it's not filtered or pasteurised, making it a much richer flavour.  Craft Beer is like a finger print because we never brew our beer in a bad mood, that's how we are here at Octo and we hope you are just like us" …
