The Trio … Foundation First
I was recently invited to meet this trio of teachers, not just any old teachers, these three have a passion to teach, so much so they have launched The International Foundation Centre, in Paphos. So, now those of you with the desire to further your education at your selected university, but require English to be accepted, can now achieve your dreams.
Confidence
I have to say that education is an imperative part of life and it seems Celia, Nick and Christine, with literally decades of amalgamated teaching experience are now evidently a team passionately dedicated to helping you learn!. Christine for example was head teacher at Brymore School in Somerset and has 50 years experience, which is exceptional to say the least.
Education comes first!
The International Foundation Centre in Paphos provides an IELTS, International English Foundation Programme, it’s recognised world wide. Following an international curriculum as a one year preparation course for international students who need additional English language and academics for entry into an undergraduate course in a University in the UK.
Getting you ready
These programmes are aimed at school leavers aged 17+ who have not attained the required standard of English. However it also acts as a bridge between the students current qualifications obtained and the UK university undergraduate entry requirements. It’s designed to improve your English, but also to fill in any academic gaps and finally to help prepare you for university.
Course Structure
The programme consists of approximately 34 study weeks and includes 4 hours per day, or 20 hours per week continuous teacher led learning. The first half of each morning is dedicated to The English Programme and the second half to The Enrichment Programme, which is essential to fully prepare International students for study and life in the UK.
The English Programme

The Enrichment Programme
This is the social part of the course. The aim is to enable students to have a good understanding of life and opportunities at a university in the UK, to feel healthy mentally and physically and to acquire new skills and more importantly to encourage you and show you how to operate as part of a team.
Sports and Adventure
To help add a little sport and adventure, Nick provides lessons in Jeet Kune Do, its a Mixed Martial Arts created by the one and only Bruce Lee, wow! Alternative ideas include things like cultural trips, basketball, and even taking The Duke of Edinburgh Award to mention but a few.
