What's On Cyprus

I was delighted to be invited to catch Bill and Ems, aka Dejavu, playing live at Lithos Bar & Grill in Larnaca.  On that night they were joined by Andreas, their drummer, and as a trio, they go by the name 'Strings Attached'  I really loved this gig so much, especially their covers of Fever, and Hotel California, so I grabbed the chance to ask Bill if we could get together for a chat.

... I love the tall beer barrel tables and stools, and inside, its all wood, a cozy atmosphere, it's intimate, cool chandeliers, music posters, comfy seating and rock stuff all over the place ... excellent service, oh and a really cool ambiance that's created by lots of like-minded, live music, rock, blues and occasionally jazz freaks, of all ages and nationalities ...

... probably the most talked about 'return to music' for decades, Craig David has sold over 2 million singles with 117 million streams in the past year alone, Craig also won the Best Male Artist at the MOBO Awards in 2016 and Best Collaboration for 'I Know You' with Bastille for at the 2018 NME Awards ...

Just a quick reminder that the Paphos Christmas Illuminations are happening tonight Friday 8th December at Kennedy Square at 5pm !

... Based up on the West Coast, they do play rock but the music mix is much more versatile, everything from Charts, Top 40 and latest releases to Retro and of course all the Classics.  Its 24/7 with top presenters live on weekdays between 7 am and 11 pm, when it switches to non stop music.  Oh, and you don't have to be on the West Coast to listen, I often listen on line and I live on the east coast, it's a really cool station!

Lithos Rock Band have been part of the rock scene in Protaras for over 12 years, these day's they're booked 7 nights a week at the excellent Q Bar in Protaras!  What I really like about them is you don't really know what they are going play each night, coz that depends on the audience ... with some 400 to 500 tracks on their play list, they don't even plan what they're going to play next ... one thing's for sure you'll get a professional show from a group who can play so well together and btw, they can all sing too!

Still one of the oldest, most classic and much loved pubs in Larnaca, after over 30 years ... the décor, all wood, prints and rock memorabilia everywhere, the courtyard out back all traditional and delightful. It's Cypriot, Rock hospitality, all the way!  with music ranging from Classic Rock to Jazz and Rhythm & Blues, and even occasionally, a little Reggae ... I just love this pub!

Standing proud at the top of Hero's Square, right in the heart of Limassol, a place where people gather, in days of old a mix of Greek and Turkish Cypriots, apparently once a red light district, now a mix of popular stylish bar's and eateries, and as the decline of cinema in the 80's inspired the new Rialto Theatre, that launched in 1999 and helped to develop the area into a hive of activities, cultural or not!
