The Island of Love
It’s February, my favourite month, mainly because it’s Valentine’s Day and it makes me laugh when I watch the postman struggle to get my cards in the post box outside 😉 … Of course, there’s nothing quite like a little romance, especially on the Goddess Aphrodite’s Island of Love … So guys, pop into one of our recommended Jewellers or Fashion Outlets to find a special gift, oh, and many of our recommended restaurants and bars are hosting romantic evenings, so why not take your lady out for dinner and pop the question?, oh and don’t forget to phone the florist!
Rock Bars & Log Fires
I love this time of the year, walking the dogs along stormy coastlines are invigorating to say the least, and don’t worry, on those chilly evenings, most bars and restaurants have homely, warming, open wood fires, log burners or those awesome tall gas heaters. Many have some wicked DJ’s mixing to mostly a local crowd blended with a few tourists and long stayers … others putting on live music every weekend, like O’Neill’s Irish Bar in Paphos and in Larnaca the world famous Savino Live, whilst Blue Spice in Pernera and Koursaros Rock Bar in Protaras gives us a few gigs and Neverland in the capital and Tepee Rock Bar keep us rocking in Limassol, our capital on the coast …
Versatile Spring
Don’t blink or you’ll miss it, that’s the two weeks in the middle of February they call ‘Spring’, the blossoms are out, floral aromas everywhere and everything is sooooo green … I just love it ! … oh and don’t worry, there’s so much to do if you look around, Cyprus is versatility to the extreme, so you’ll still be able to ski and snowboard up in the Troodos Mountains in the morning and swim in the Med in the afternoon and the spring air is really clear, so in between the occasional wintry storms, you’ll still get a fab tan!
Touring Season
It’s a great time to go touring and there’s plenty to see. The Troodos Mountains are in their element at this time of the year and as I write they’re currently covered in snow, so hire a 4 Wheel Drive Car and go touring! Or book a day out with one of our jeep adventure safaris and you’ll get a driver and a host to show you the real Cyprus, try Jimmy’s Jeep Adventures on the west coast and Trackers Jeep Safari exploring from the East.
Shopaholics Heaven
All you shop ’til you drop freaks will be in heaven, coz it’s also time for the February Sales, much as many of them started in January this year, so get out and find some bargains, with up to 70% off at some shops. It’s a good time to buy that last winter warmer, still needed at night in February, Leading the way in Fashion are Brouska or BrouskaBlue and London Clothing Company with shops all over Cyprus.
Europe’s Finest
Cyprus, finally and officially, boast’s the best beaches in Europe, ha! we were saying that years ago!, as one world renowned Advisor kept forgetting us in their top ten???, in fact we have 25 of the top beaches in Europe, a couple up there with the best in the world, because let’s face it; you really can’t beat our sea! … we also have the best climate in the world and we’re one of the safest places in the world to visit, and well, they’ve been partying here since the gods invented party some 12,600 years ago, one of the main reasons I live here 😉
Mixing it Up
I’ve noticed renovations everywhere, it’s nice to see our businesses reinvesting to keeping up with fashion … I believe most places are lookin forward to a record year with over 3 million visitors in 2018, anticipating that to rise to 5 million by 2020 and as tourism seems to be swinging back to a British majority, closely followed by our Scandinavian visitors and now many others including, Russia, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, Greece and the rest of the European market, slowly but surely all finding out how special this rock really is … it’s starting to feel like the old days …

Time to Invest
Cyprus is looking like it’s going to have a fantastic future as we get closer to the 20’s, so it’s a great time to invest in Cyprus … check out some of our current projects to increase visitors and tourism, maybe a private property to let for extra income, for example at the new Ayia Napa Marina and adjacent Sun City Spa Resort

The season should kick off early with the tour operators promising to help us go year round and with Christian Easter falling on 21st and Orthodox Easter on 28th April, and 8 Public Holidays between now and 1st of May … wow!

The new App is our cherry on the top, and our Facebook Page just surpassed 8,000 Likes, with up to 20,000 post engagement per week, the word is spreading … the new web site is looking awesome, with around 10,000 visitors a month … We’re also getting new daily followers on Twitter and Instagram @whatsoncyprus, and our YouTube channel is wicked, so please subscribe, and we’re keeping in fashion with a link to Pinterest so get following and sharing guys and lets tell the world how cool this rock is !!!
