September 2023
I always say "If you really want to know what’s happening with the weather just ask the fishermen’, who are telling us ‘Because of all that rain we had into May and that silly storm in August, we’ll probably have another Indian summer’. So it’ll still be beach weather during the day, but it’ll start getting a bit cooler in the evenings and, if they’re right, summer will probably last ’til the end of November, mmm! So, if for whatever reason you’ve not been away yet this year, maybe 2 or even 3 years, and you’re desperate to get away from it all, Cyprus should be your number one choice!
August 2023
It’s probably gonna hit well over 40°C in the shade, so that's over 50°C in direct sun, so for those of us working it's horrible! Imagine Nicosia at lunchtime, not a good idea, and that’s why the majority of the residents of Nicosia swarm down to the coat. Just watch, as sophisticated, cosmopolitan, trendy, Nicosia mixes with the pure party holiday crew, the result inevitably is electric!, which btw, is why August might secretly be my favourite month.
July 2023
It’s definitely time to get down to the beach or next to a pool to get that lovely tan, but
please be careful, the sun in Cyprus is very strong, burn time is about 20 minutes, so
slap on the Factor 50, aka ‘a bandage’ and it’s definitely going to be sunny tomorrow so
there’s no rush. The ‘in-fashion‘ beach bars have grown all along the coast throwing
some really cool beach parties and the decadent old town bars and cafés putting on
some really cool events these days.
May 2023
Another reason I love May is because we’ve already started topping up the tan as the temperatures have hit over 30°C in the shade, and the days are longer now, almost guaranteed sunshine through clear blue skies, as you'll notice there’s no heat haze yet. I’ve also started going out at night in shorts and T-shirt and by mid-May, we probably won’t see rain again ’til October, apart from maybe one crazy hail storm in August.
It’s April & It’s Easter 2023
Talking about beaches, you know Ayia Napa and Protaras boast 2 of the best beaches in Europe and I believe we have the nicest sea I’ve ever had the pleasure to swim in, licensing hours currently ‘til 2.30 am, and then, of course, our night clubs will take you through to sunrise, not too good for the tan unless you go straight to the beach.
March 2023
It’s spring, but there’s still so much to do if you look around, tbh, Cyprus is so versatile, you’ll probably still be able to ski and snowboard and even go Husky Sledding up in the Troodos Mountains 'til mid-March. Imagine being able to go snowboarding in the morning and wakeboarding on the med in the afternoon.
December 2022
On that note did you know that the aura of the Mediterranean is a natural source of Iodine, perfect for the immune system?
September 2022
As many of you know September really is my favourite month … Those long hot, balmy, days and sticky nights, turn into not quite so hot days, with breezy cooler evenings, much as the temperatures will remain in the 30°C’s, in the shade, that’s well over 90°F in English. However, the cold water still won't be cold enough, but at least we can start sleeping without the aircon on!
August 2021
Don’t forget it’s school holiday’s so loads of little’ns around too, and it’s too hot to do much except chill, but there’s so much to do and so little time, hmm ? … try searching ‘Kids & Grown Ups on our website … but let’s start you off with a visit to Ocean Aquarium Park in Protaras for a lovely day out with the kids …
June 2020
The current Covid Crises has hit us all hard, throwing us into a sci-fi film set back in March, we’re now on 'Take 82', and tbh, I think the Cyprus Government got it right … They reacted very quickly, rumour has it from a little inside tip from one of our Chinese investors … They attacked the pandemic with the only possible solution, ‘To Slow it Down’ … then using experts in Epidemiology they mathematically calculated when things would get back to normal’ish … and we’ve lifted restrictions in travel, no more SMS messages to go out, no more curfew, we’re allowed to swim in the sea and top up the tan after, and the restaurants and bars are opening and it seems people are getting together with friends, so please pop out and give these guys some support, they need it most now!!!
