As many of you know September really is my favourite month … Those long hot, balmy, days and sticky nights, turn into not quite so hot days, with breezy cooler evenings, much as the temperatures will remain in the 30°C’s, in the shade, that’s well over 90°F in English.  However, the cold water still won't be cold enough, but at least we can start sleeping without the aircon on!

It’s May already, and it really is my favourite month, apart from September, but maybe the  'summer’s really here' thing just tips that 'relief from the heat' thing.  Seriously, it must be summer because we’re all in T-shirts, shorts and sandals and we’ve put our boots away for the next 6 months! ... oh and, we need to put the butter in the fridge, and I've taken the quilt off the bed and I'm just sleeping under a sheet and blankie, it really must be summer!

Now I know it might sound crazy, but by the end of December up in the Troodos Mountains, you can go skiing or even Husky Sledding in the morning and by the afternoon you can be swimming in The Mediterranean Sea and that’s just one of the reasons why I think this place is Paradise! 

Talking about beaches, Ayia Napa and Protaras on the east coast, boast 2 of the Best Beaches in Europe and tbh, we're blessed with the nicest sea I’ve ever had the pleasure to swim in, in the world ... Add stuff like; Licensing hours currently ‘til 2.30 am, and then, of course, our night clubs will take you through to sunrise, not too good for the tan unless you go straight to the beach after a good night out, speaking by experience ;)

... of course it's peak season, it’s hot, the temperature will reach over 40°C by mid-July, even the cold water isn't really cold enough, sunrise is about 5.30 am and it’s not getting dark 'til almost 8.30 pm, there's UV paint parties, beach parties, foam parties and pool parties all over the place, and the 70 day club war is well and truly underway, with some massive names coming to spin their mix.

June is of course my favourite month, coz it really is summer, scorching temperatures will increase daily up to the mid 30°C in the shade, and that’s about 100°F+ in English, making it a perfect climate to get a tan!  Everything moves outdoors; better still, you can wear shorts and a T-shirt at night.  I took the quilt off the bed a couple of weeks ago, and we’re all sleeping under a sheet, but you've gottta put the butter back in the fridge, the cold water just isn’t cold enough and it’s obviously summer coz the Cypriots are finally swimming in the sea …

As we come to the end of our long, hot, summer season, the season for exhibitions, tours, and festivals is well and truly underway.  As usual, we'll also see lots of end-of-summer closing parties, it's any excuse to clear all the stock.  Naturally, that will bring lots of winter opening parties, and maybe some really cool Christmas markets too!

Another reason I love May is because we’ve already started topping up the tan as the temperatures have hit over 30°C in the shade, and the days are longer now, almost guaranteed sunshine through clear blue skies, as you'll notice there’s no heat haze yet.  I’ve also started going out at night in shorts and T-shirt and by mid-May, we probably won’t see rain again ’til October, apart from maybe one crazy hail storm in August.

It’s spring, but there’s still so much to do if you look around, tbh, Cyprus is so versatile, you’ll probably still be able to ski and snowboard and even go Husky Sledding up in the Troodos Mountains 'til mid-March.  Imagine being able to go snowboarding in the morning and wakeboarding on the med in the afternoon.
