It's amazing how many people still didn't know this place exists ... it's situated in the village of Avgorou, and includes beautifully landscaped herb gardens, the woodland area created in the shape of Cyprus, scattered with the endemic trees and shrubs of Cyprus, a Lavender Labyrinth, and it boasts the first and only hedge maze on the island, all 2000 sq.m. of it ...

It's been over 26 years since my very good friend Leo opened New Horizon Pub.  These days Leo's son Stephanos is at the helm, supported by his two righthand men Yiotis and Steve, that have been with him 25 years, and this place just seems to be getting better and better!  It's an old English style bar, with lots of polished wood, high stools along the bar, out front a gorgeous beer garden on the partly covered terrace, and loads of things on the walls and it's a family pub so children are more than welcome! ...

I love a new find ... this wonderful Bistro is set in the cobbled alleys at the top end of Old Town Paphos.  It's the dream of Soula and Aristos come true.  Soula has a love of cooking, especially 'sweet things' and now you can go and enjoy a little naughtiness in a quaint French Bistro style ambience, where everything just seems to slow down and stop, and all you have to think about is which coffee to choose !

This is as traditional an English pub as you'll find in Cyprus ... It's on a corner for starters !!!

I asked Marios @ Andria Steak & Seafood Restaurant, in Coral Bay, Paphos what's their secret behind their success?  He said "it's down to the quality of our ingredients, everything is fresh daily and cooked to order, and to us, presentation is an art" ... I have to say it's impeccable!  Marios continued; "to cook a good steak you first have to buy a good steak, and that's exactly what we do, importing the finest Black Angus Beef and the freshest seafood caught daily by local fishermen" ... ... we have created a menu, traditional but not, it’s totally unique, partly influenced by her yiayia, a fusion of Greek, Cypriot and Spanish cuisine, but she assured me none of the dishes you’ll find anywhere else, because they are the creation of their imagination, using always fresh produce, everything is cooked to order, nothing is prepared and always around her flavours and essences of Cyprus, that she uses to compliment every dish … oh, and if she had her way, she would change the menu every day” … So do look out for their daily specials and make sure you leave room for dessert!

I really enjoy my job, even more so when I find something a little different and was thrilled when Valentina and Yiannis invited me to meet them at their Traditional Romanian Restaurant in Paphos … They asked me if I'd like to try one of Yiannis' Soups for lunch, and I said "just a little please" and they served me Meat Ball Soup with some warm pitta and green chili peppers on the side … I just have to say; "I wish I hadn't said 'just a little' … it really was delicious!"

This is, without doubt, one of Paphos' finest eateries ... It's a traditional Irish Bar, so authentic all the furniture was crafted in Ireland an imported over, lots of dark warm wood, benches and stools, cottage cabinets and red brick. There's plenty of room inside, a nice covered smoking room and a lovely breezy sun terrace out front with comfortable seating, and the pub grub just a tad above the rest ... it's just like you've walked into a bar in Dublin, only a bit warmer!

Their Coconuts are full of raw unpasturised fresh coconut juice, and tasty young coconut flesh, packed with electrolytes, containing as much potassium as two bananas and with zero cholesterol, almost no calories, and extremely low in fat, a perfect part of any healthy diet, that will help you build your immune system.
