I was thrilled to finally get a chance to catch up with Zannetos at Fig Tree Bay Zefkas George & Son Restaurant, and I was amazed to learn that the history of Fig Tree Bay actually started here ... This beach, of course, has always been popular with the locals way before tourism really existed. Their speciality is Simon’s Pies, and as a Master Baker for over 40 years they are 'just to die for’ … with too many to choose from, Steak ’n Kidney, Steak ’n Ale, Steak ’n Halloumi or my fav the Tandoori Chicken and for the vegetarian’s choice, Three Cheeses, or you must try one of Simon's Indian Dishes, OMG! ... and its all available for Take Away

As you all know, I love to tell you about my favourite finds, and in my hunt to discover the best beachside bars and eateries in Cyprus, this one is without a doubt one of my favourites, and I was more than pleasantly surprised when I found out that it's strongly linked to Paragka Beach Bar on Trinity Bay in Ayia Triada Bay, Pernera

... from the intro to the end, the girls put on an funny and spectacularly electric show with such passion and sooo much energy !!!

I recently accidentally discovered 'Nai Coffee' on the road from Dherynia to Sotira.  The building is the stunning, old 'Kalograia Taverna', the barn-style staggered apex roof, striking and unusual.  It was the Illy Coffee sign that initially grabbed my attention, and I fancied a coffee, so my curiosity getting the better of me, I just had to pop in ...

The place looks traditionally British, well, it's on a corner for starters, but these days it's got a European twist as lots of their repeat clients are from various parts of Europe, particularly Scandinavia.  There's a covered terrace all the way around, the décor; lots of wood, comfy benches, colourful tables, low or high ... a row of tall red stools surrounding the bar, oh and blackboards everywhere and the host oozes hospitality ...

... the kitchen serves a Full English Breakfast or just Scrambled Eggs on Toast, Homemade Burgers, Homemade Pizzas, Pukka Pies, Fluffy Omelettes, Salads, Grills with delicious Chicken breast, Huge Pork Chops and even your favourite Toasties.  There's something for everyone including a separate Children's Menu ... and if you like to share try one of their delicious Meat Platters for two ...

I've watched this pub grow since it opened in 1988.  It's all dark wood, tables, comfy seats and benches.  The whole place is covered in artefacts, flags, posters, blackboards and hundreds of photos added over the years.  I'm sure I'm in a few, ha!, in fact, I probably took a few of them too.  It's a GastroPub with a cool mix of an international clientele, and of course, the locals in the area, even our nationals who swarm down to the East Coast for a swim on a weekend, and something to eat, and all add to the ever-increasing repeat custom and inevitably, I'd have to say; it's one of the most successful pubs in Cyprus! ... Tbh, the weekends are soooo busy I prefer to go Monday til Thursday, I get more attention ;)

Enjoy your Mini Donuts Plain or Drizzled in Syrup, Sugar, or Honey ... I love the way they can stuff your Donuts with Nutella, Bueno Cream, or Bugasta Cream ... In Buckets of 20 starting at only €4.50 ... Double it with 40 or The Family 100 Box ... for up to 10 People, great for parties! ... or the Party Box is 250 with up to 6 toppings should be more than enough for up to 22 People!

Evi continued; "It all started back in 1912, when Wilbur Scoville charted the comparative heat of different chillis.  The greater the number of Scouville units the hotter the chilli, but don't worry, we have 8 Different Flavours of Piri Piri sauces, from Zesty Lemon and Herb to Extreme with everything in between!"  Piri Piri of course means Pepper Pepper, my favourites are the Hot & Spicy and the Jerk Chicken, OMG!
