We recently popped into Eden Square, firstly for dinner at El Chico Mexican Restaurant and following our delicious meal with a couple of perfect Mojitos in Nalu Cocktail Bar in Protaras. I grabbed a moment to chat to owner Constantinos on the night and I arranged a day to do a catch up …

I grabbed a chance to pop in for a chat with owner Andreas and his son Thomas.  With over 30 years experience Andreas is an expert in English Style Indian Cuisine.  He's contributed his whole life to his work, spending over 5 years on a mission to travel all over the UK researching the different recipes from the different settlers of various regions of Indian … btw, they also boast a TripAdvisor award putting them in the top 10% Indian Restaurants in the World!

Boasting a massive sunny garden bar terrace out front, delightful in the afternoon for a pint or a G&T and some excellent excellent pub grub.  It's just as popular by night where you can enjoy a massive drinks menu and live music every night, with lots of like minded people and, they even provide warm blankies to put over your knees for the chilly nights at the start and end of the season!

Fāinā told me "We originally opened a French restaurant in Makarios Avenue, introducing Lebanese cuisine after 2 years, but when we moved our restaurant here we switched to a Lebanese Restaurant with just a few French dishes as our customers were mostly locals.  These days its a more varied international mix as more and more tourists have discovered us.  As the years past, we found more and more of our customers were asking us to cook French cuisine for them".  She laughed and said "ha! but many restaurants cook Frogs Legs, but none can cook them like ours!  And, then she added; just wait til you try our Duck!"

Over a gorgeous cappuccino I asked Vaida, why she created 'The Loop'? … She explained; "I'm originally from Lithuania, but lived in Holland for many many years and fell in love and married a Cypriot and finally moved to Cyprus just 4 years ago" … Vaida continued, "I noticed there was a distinct lack of places to get good fresh food, not just vegetarian and vegan but specialising in healthy eats and healthy diets".

I was delighted to be invited to 'Play 4 All' to catch up with owner Lucas Polycarpou and I have to say, I had no idea just how much they do here, with 6 Full Size Bowling Alleys, a Children's Play Room, called 'The Jungle' and a fully fitted club style party room called 'La Mour' for up to 150 of your friends.  There's also a restaurant with a top chef presenting a full a' la carte menu and that's just for starters, excuse the pun … oh and, a few big screen TV's so you can just pop in for a drink to watch all the live sports and the footie! … So it really is a fun place for kids, and grown ups!

Vangelis said he had extensive training in Naples, not at collage but at an academy at a traditional pizzeria, with top pizza chefs.  The rewards; pizzas as authentic as you can get this side of Italy, the dough, 4 simple ingredients, hand made, but fermented for 48 Hours before use, a Neapolitan influence, which enhances the flavour, then topped with your favourite toppings and baked to perfection in a traditional stone fired revolving oven ... the result a thin base with a light fluffy crust ... I have to say they're delicious!

I was delighted to be invited to find out more about this exceptional, luxury chocolate manufacturing company.  Established in 1990 by Constantinos' father Stavros.  Their story is almost as lovely as their chocolate tastes ... omg!  Constantinos made me very welcome as we talked about how it all started ...

Specialising in Pork or Chicken Souvlaki cooked over real charcoal nice and slowly … They’re getting good vibes about their Gyros made with pork, beef, lamb or chicken using the family recipe, marinated for two days before being slow cooked on the Rotisserie … served in Greek or Cypriot Pitta Bread, topped with salad and a selection of sauces … but I must say the Pork Steak in a Bun is delicious! …

By rule of thumb if its quiet in here, it'll be dead everywhere else! ... Gary's Bar & Grill is without doubt one of the best eateries in Napa, recently, yet again, awarded a Certificate of Excellence 2020 by Trip Advisor, it's becoming a habit and tbh, they deserve every accolade they get! ...
