Topping the tan is easy in December coz Its going to be up there around the 25°C mark and that's in the shade, so it'll be over 30°C in direct sun, so please take care, sit in the shade for a bit and use a good sun protection and after-sun protection is just as important .... It’s October already, that went quick!  and it really is one of my favourite months!  Partly because that long hot summer is definitely over, or is it? … I asked the fishermen and they said it might not rain again ‘til mid-November, with temperatures still up in the 30°C’s, as we enter October, that’s about 90°F in English.  Just as we predicted back in May, it looks like we’re going to have another Indian summer and we’ll still be going to the beach in December, Mmm, don’t you just love Cyprus!

As usual, the first thing I wanted to know was why 'Frosty & Latte'? much as I thought I sort of knew the answer.  But to my surprise, 'Adamantri' said, "We must have thought of over 60 names, in the end we named the shop after our two dogs", which conveniently complemented it perfectly.  I mentioned I loved the décor, which sort of fuses contemporary minimalism with cosy charm, and she said, "I love to do a little interior design, and for a smallish shop, I think we did really well"

You all know I love to find something a little different, especially when it falls into our 'Things to Do' category ... Only opening in May this year, I did a little more research and gave them a call.  We arranged a meeting with owner Lenny at the Putt Putt Mini Golf Course, so I could find out more ...

I couldn't resist, so I started with, 'So John, tell me about the old days'... As he replied, his voice became a bit more emotional. "I was born in 1959 in the general hospital, which is now a college, I'll show you on our trip.  My family were producers of Strawberries in the neighbouring red soil village of Dherynia.  I grew up in the old city of Famagusta, or Varrossia as it was known.  I went to school there, I'll show you that too.  I knew every road and every corner, every shop and every hotel".

I love July, and you all know it's really my favourite month, partly coz it’s my birthday on the 27th and that means I’ve made it another year, and I’ll probably be throwing a party!  The main reason, of course, is it’s peak season, with temperatures in the shade in the high ’30s and it’s getting hotter through 'til August … 'bring it on', I say, we love it hot, that’s why we live here … Mmm, Don’t you just love Cyprus? ... I think I've changed my favourite month from May to June, coz it's obviously summer, with scorching temperatures increasing daily up to the mid 30°C in the shade, and that’s about 100°F+ in English, making it a perfect climate to Get a Tan!  Another reason I love June is that everything moves outdoors; better still, you can wear shorts and a T-shirt at night.  I took the quilt off the bed a couple of weeks ago, and we’re all sleeping under a sheet, but it's time to put the butter back in the fridge, the cold water just isn’t cold enough and the main reason we really know it's summer, is coz the Cypriots are finally swimming in the sea …

As I walked in for the first time, I was well impressed with the simple blackboards adorning the walls up the stairs leading to the bar on the first floor.  Inside, it's all dark wood and industrial style metal ... cool signs everywhere, I couldn't resist getting a couple of shots, how do you like your whiskey?  The bar is open on three sides, so lovely cool breezes with really cool views over the heart of Napa, Marios laughed as he said, "it's packed in here for the festive parades"!
